TESTING SPEAKING SKILL (NONTEST) DISCRETE TECHNIQUE

School Grade/Semester Skills Standard of Competency

: Junior High School : VII/ 1 : Speaking : 9. Students are able to express meaning in transactional and interpersonal dialogues to interact with their environment.

Basic Competency

: 9.2 Students are able to express meanings in transactional (to get things done) and interpersonal (with social contacts) dialogues to interact with their environment that involve expressions of likes and dislikes in accurate, fluent, and appropriate ways.

Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students are able to use the expressions of likes and dislikes with their friends.

Indikators: 1. Students will be able to pronounce the expressions of likes and dislikes correctly. 2. Students will be able to complete the dialogues of the expressions of likes and dislikes using their own words. 3. Students will be able to make their own dialogue for expressing likes and dislikes based on a situation and picture given in appropriate English.

4. Students will be able to use the expressions of likes and dislikes with their friends in appropriate English.

Set Induction Greeting (Teacher greets students.) T: Good morning, class. How are you all today? S: Good morning, Maam. Im fine, thank you . . . and you? T: Im very well, thank you. Prayer (Teacher and students say a prayer.) Well. . Before we start our lesson today, lets pray together! Amen . . . Checking attendance (Teacher checks the students attendance.) Lesson Delivery

- Teacher use explicit leading statement to move from the set induction to the lesson delivery by saying OK, now, I will explain more about expression of asking someones likes and dislikes and expressing likes and dislikes - Teacher gives expressions to express likes and dislikes . -Teacher explains expressions that show asking someones likes and expressing likes and dislikes. -Teacher asks students to listen and repeat the expressions. -Teacher gives feedback and correction for students pronunciation. -Teacher gives examples of dialogues of expressions that show asking and giving information. -Teacher asks students to read the dialogues and answer question orally based on the dialogue. -Teacher gives feedback and correction for students pronunciation.

ASSESSMENT -Teacher gives students worksheets and asks the students to do the first task. -Teacher gives 3 minutes for each pair of students to role play the dialogue. -Teacher asks the students to do the second task. -Teacher gives 3 minutes for each pair of students to make a conversation in front of the class. -Teacher asks the students to do the third task. -Teacher gives 2 minutes for each pair of students to make a conversation in front of the class. -Teacher asks the students to do the last task. -Teacher gives 5 minutes for each pair of students to make an interview in front of the class.

Closing a.Concluding -Teacher and students wrap what has been discussed clearly and briefly. b.Following up -Students are assigned a homework to make other dialogue relates to expressing likes and dislikes
