Intern will provide assist with pastoral direction including leading
Morning and Evening Prayer at the Annunciation Mission (AM).
The intern will develop a pastoral program for the AM. The
program will include orientation meetings, morning and evening
services, Bible Studies, programs geared to help people understand
News Orleans history and culture, and de-briefing sessions.
Several variations of the program will need to be developed to be
team specific: adult, youth, college, and a mix of age groups.

The program will aid the AM in reaching its goal of being a


“Mission in a Box.” It will help mission teams begin to answer the
question: what does it mean to be a Christian (and church) in the
21st Century in my local culture? Using their experience in New
Orleans, mission teams will be confronted by Jesus Christ’s call to
both belief and action.

Overview of Responsibility:
- Provide pastoral care to the summer teams.
- Review other national best practices.
- Devise a pastoral program that includes corporate and personal
worship and prayer, Bible Study, personal reflections,
orientation, de-briefing session, and New Orleans culture for:
adult, youth, college, and mixed ages teams.
- Attend all meetings necessary to perform duties.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Perform other work related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Intern must be a Christian.
- Intern must have firm knowledge of the Scriptures.
- Intern must have personal mission trip experience(s).
- Intern must have a heart for urban environments.
- Intern must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Intern must be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Intern must be able to work alone and with team members.
- Intern must be able to think, work, and function independently.
- Intern must have access to a car or bike for transportation.
- Intern must have a laptop or computer.
- Intern must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week).
- Intern must possess a sense of humor and compassion.
