2 INTRODUCTION
2.1

PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT

The purpose of this document is too: 1 2 3 2.2 Identify the objectives and success criteria of the Study Identify the deliverables from Cimlogic Identify the deliverables from the CLIENT

OBJECTIVE

To establish the productivity of machine XYZ, Cimlogic will fit a LEANTrak Automatic Monitoring and Reporting system to carry out a brief but effective evaluation of the machine. LEANTrak will capture real-time production events, non-intrusively involve operators to contextualize the collected data, analyse the data and provide reports on the key performance indicators (how well production goals were attained, problems that occurred with their frequency, root cause and impact). The study will be conducted over a shift without interfering with ongoing production and without any changes to infrastructure (nothing installed or modified). 2.3

SUCCESS CRITERIA

The report produced by LEANTrak will show: 1. KPI Summary 2. Time loss due to Operational events 3. Time loss due to Manual events An example report is shown in Appendix A.

DELIVERABLES FROM CIMLOGIC

Installation

Cimlogic will sign a non-disclosure agreement which binds the company to not disclosing any information gathered during the study, without written permission of the CLIENTs nominated legal authority. Cimlogic will then install LEANTrak on a target machine. The schematic of the installation will be similar to that shown below:

2.4.2

Configuration

Cimlogic will configure the LEANTrak system with the following customer supplied information: 2.4.3 Product names, codes that are to be addressed during the shift Standard operating conditions for each products Production target for each product Shift times Downtime categories Starved categories Blocked categories Operation

Once the study has commenced then after every machine event (downtime, starved, etc) the operator will be asked to select one of the categories and offer a comment. Other appropriate users may look at the real-time dashboard display via a web browser display, which will give the status of production rate (actual versus target) availability, performance, quality and OEE. 2.4.4 Report

At the conclusion of the study, Cimlogic will extract the standard reports from the LEANTrak (see Appendix A for an example) and provide these to the CLIENT.

DELIVERABLES FROM CLIENT

It is assumed that the client will: 1. 2. 3. 4. Provide its own Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) or sign a Cimlogic supplied NDA. Provide suitable supervision and direction to the Cimlogic engineer to ensure he/she complies with the CLIENTS H&S code and Operating Procedures. Provide the necessary information for the LEANTrak system set up as detailed in section 2.4 above. Participate in the review meeting at the end of the study

3 WORK PROCEDURE
3.1

LEANTRAK INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Installation of the LEANTrak system will comprise of three elements. 1. Installation of the sensors. An example installation is shown as follows

2. Installation of the SENSORTrak Data Collection unit. The sensors shown above will be connected into the SENSORTrak unit. This unit must be powered from a local power supply (95 to 265V ac). 3. Installation of the LEANTrak industrial laptop PC The laptop can be located at a convenient point to the machine. The Laptop is battery operated however a connection to a local power supply is preferred.

4 RISK ASSESSMENT AND REVALIDATION REQUIREMENTS

The risks associated with the procedure are assessed as follows: Seriousness HIGH = 3 MEDIUM = 2 LOW = 1 Likelihood HIGH = 3 MEDIUM = 2 LOW = 1 NOT POSSIBLE = 0 If no checks are carried out on installation If limited checks are carried out to ensure no interference with production If checks are carried out to ensure no interference with production Unaffected by installation Potential for loss of production Potential reduction in production Little risk to production

4.1

LEANTRAK INSTALLATION
Risk Scenario Potential Impact Seriousness Likelihood Overall risk level 1 Revalidation Requirement Confirm the products can be processed without any interference from the installed sensors

Sensors Installation interferes with production

Production fails to start

5 DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
No changes to existing documentation are required. The output of this study will be a decision support document which, when analysed, will enable qualified corrective action tasks to be identified and executed

6 RE TEST REQUIREMENTS
The CLIENT will need to carry out its standard start up and performance tests after the LEANTrak system is installed and removed.

Cimlogic Ltd is one of the successful companies to join a leading edge scheme, designed to help industry improve its safety record. Cimlogic Ltd has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practice amongst UK contractors. The company's application for SAFEcontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SAFEcontractor accreditation is expected to enhance the company's ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be reviewed positively by its insurers. SAFEcontractor is operated by international safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, the National Britannia Group. National Britannia say "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies and more companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Cimlogic Ltd have done. The firm's high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies in the sector."
