The calling for Constitutional convention made a great contribution especially on the legislative department in which Filipinos were trained to make a draft of law that is to be submitted for approval in the US congress, this led to the drafting of the Philippine Constitution, the fundamental law of the land. The U.S. Congress enacted the Jones Act which states that the U.S. government will recognize the independence of the Philippines as soon as a stable government can be established therein. What do you think was the most important contribution of the American to the Filipino Culture? The most important contribution of America to the Filipinos was democracy. Freedom has always been a dream of the Filipinos since the Spanish rule. Filipinos had shed blood to our native land for the sake of freedom. Democracy is the greatest legacy of America to us because they grant us the freedom to have our own government to lead the people and the nation into progress and that people may be given the equal rights, equal rights to all Filipinos. Tyranny and cruelty was criticized and should not be put in mind for a democratic government is made by the people and for the people. They taught us learn their democratic ways and institutions. We have been permitted to display own flag and enjoy freedom from external control and have been recognized by other countries to be an independent state.

Why did the Japanese failed to get Filipino support? The Japanese failed to get the Filipino support maybe because of the inhuman character. Unlike the Americans who has been good to us and lead us to national progress, The Japanese were such a bloodsuckers extracting all resources of the Philippines for their own purposes. They even tortured people without any crime and accusing them of rebellion. Their character was too far from that of the Americans. They are people of no mercy and they also used our fellowmen to reveal those who oppose the government and be punished to death. These actions of the Japanese are more than what the Spaniards do to us. It is no wonder that they failed to get our support because they have been tyrannically ruled over us.
