Materials 2 skeins of worsted wool 1 skein Araucania, color 2, Panguipulli 1 skein Shepherds Wool, color Seabreeze Size 8 circular needle One 1 button Two D-rings One 36 chain or desired length 2 markers Stitch holders Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 Size before felting: 15 high, 12 wide. Size after felting: 11 high, 11 wide

Definitions K = knit P = pearl St st = straight stitch RS = right side WS = wrong side K2tog = knit 2 stitches together rnd = round BO = bind off BODY Cast on 120 stitches K in the round using straight stitch Place markers at beginning of row and after stitch 60 Change colors every other row, moving markers with each row Continue in St st until piece measure 9 Begin bag shaping Row 1: K2tog, k until 3 sts before marker, k2tog, k1, move marker, k until 3 sts before marker, k2tog k 1 Row 2: K even for 6 rnds

Repeat rows 1 and 2 five more times until 96 stitches remain Bag measures 15 high K 48 sts, transfer last 5 sts knit to holder for tab BO next 43 sts, transfer next 5 sts to holder for second tab FLAP K in St st remaining 43 sts Work even for 20 rows Begin flap shaping K1, (k2tog)2x, St st until 5 sts before end, (k2tog)2x, k1 Work even for 4 rows Repeat last 5 rows once K1, (k2tog)2x, St st until 5 sts before end, (k2tog)2x, k1 Work even for 2 rows Repeat last 3 rows twice (23 sts) Make buttonhole K10, BO 3, k10 P10, cast on 3 sts, p10 k 23 sts WS: k1, p1 across RS: k1, p1 across BO all sts: k1, p1 POCKET Halfway up the inside back of the bag, pick up 30 stitches This will begin the bottom of your pocket. Using one color only for the pocket, k 30 sts for 5 inches Last 2 rows before BO knit in seed st BO all stitches Leave a tail long enough to secure pocket on 3 sides Sew down one side of pocket, being careful not to let sts show on RS. Weave yarn in through bottom of pocket Sew down opposite side of pocket Secure yarn and weave in end TABS Attach yarn and knit 5 sts from holder w/one or both colors K 12 rows BO Leave a tail to be used to secure D-ring after felting Repeat for opposite tab

FINISHING Sew bottom seam Turn bag WS out and flatten bottom. Sew a short seam across the triangular flap at each side approximately 1 from end of each triangle point for form bottom and side gussets for bag. Felting Felt Bag to desired dimensions. Attach button. Attach Chain Open D-rings and attach to either side of chain. Close rings. Fold tab over first D-ring and sew down with waste yarn. Repeat for second tab.
