INSTRUCTIONS

FOR

BRUCKNER

STENTER

I. INITIAL MACHINE CHECK UP AT EVERY SHIFT START: Check and adjust at the following locations: AIR PRESSURE: Padder: To suit fabric width Min. 3 bar & max. depending on fabric. Max setting possible is 10 bar. For even nip , air pressure required is 6.0 bar. Padder dancing roller Min 3 to 4 Bar Bye pass flaps air regulator: 5 Bar Pinning Brush & post pinning brush: Min 6 bar. Compensating roller, roller brake, plaitter brake: Min 5 Bar. STEAM : AT HEAT RECOVERY UNIT Ensure steam valve is always OPEN. Check & clean the mesh filter at the HR unit. Frequency of cleaning should be decided based on ambient conditions. To check and inform the concerned department on the following: Any screws / nuts / metal parts / pin bar etc. on the floor around the machine. Any spillage of oil anywhere around the machine. Any unusual vibration or sound anywhere in and around the machine.

II. PREPARING THE MACHINE FOR PRODUCTION: Check that the inside of the chambers are clean, including the filters. Switch on the main switch at the control panel. Once the main screen is ready, check for any ERROR messages and clear it. Start the exhaust fans at 60%. Start the Bottom blower fans at 60% by manual mode. Start heating with required temperature value. Eg: For heat setting 190 Deg.C. Ensure chamber temperature reaches 130 Deg c & then Start the chain and keep running at 10 m / min speed till the chamber temperature reaches the SET Temperature Value. Switch over from MANUAL to AUTO mode (blower fans) before starting the fabric. Stop chain & feed in the correctly threaded in fabric to chain .Ensure correct threading of the fabric manually through the padders, dancing rollers, lower draw in roller, MAHLO weft straightener rollers, overfeed roller, etc. While opting to bye pass the padders, threading of the fabric to be done accordingly. Set the required spindle width at the main screen. Always do the adjustment of the spindle width with the chain stopped. It is advisable to set spindles such that the fabric is stretched gradually to the required width at exit . By doing so , skew & shrinkage on fabric can be well achieved. Ensure the following before pinning on the fabric: o Padder is set to squeezing position; o Liquor / water trough is set to working position and switch ON the LEVEL CONTROL. o The auto mode at the Padder touch screen is ON. o Set the differential speed settings for drives according to the fabric.

o Entry section push button ON. (Continuous White - ON) Start the machine by pressing continuously the green button for 7 seconds. (Initial 5 seconds audible warning is sounded and then machine gets started at minimum speed 8 m / min). When the fabric reaches the exit area, stop the machine and the fabric has to be carefully taken out from the pins of the chain and to be threaded onto the take off roller , cooling cylinders to the Plaitter. Select the Exit section ON to switch ON the plaitter at the exit touch screen. Necessary tension adjustment can be done at the exit touch screen before selecting machine to run at production speed. Set the machine for production at the required speed. Optimize the exhaust fans, hot air fans and cooling fans speeds to suit requirement. When in Heat setting process, never run exhaust fan No 1 at lower speeds, ex, below 40 % and Exhaust fan No2 at 60% This will ensure that the hot contaminated air is taken out thro the exhaust ducts, reducing the chances of condensation and wax droppings. Exhaust Air humidity : 1. When using machine in Heat setting, normally it is advisable to run the exhaust fan No 1 at speeds set manually . 2. When using the machine for drying & finishing, it is advisable to set the exhaust fan No 1 on AUTO CONTROL mode with setting as 80g/Kg . The value depends on fabric type.

III. DOS AND DONTS Do not knot the fabric for joining always stitch the ends and feed . Knots will damage the rubber of the padder , tandematic plates , Shrinking belt & Pin bars . They may also result in fabric getting stuck at take off plate , anti static device etc . Do not join fabrics of two different widths and continue running the machine. Take the first fabric out of chain & set the width in the width adjustment spindles and then introduce the next fabric. Width adjustment of the spindles is to be done when the chain is stopped. Do not stop the chain until the temperature of the chambers comes below 80 deg. C . Do not handle the touch screen with sharp objects. Always keep chamber doors locked at the top and bottom sides of the doors. One lock will damage the door sealing after some time. Never try to play with the touch screen or try to enter areas with passwords which are not related to operators. Do not leave the operating area when the machine is in production. Be attentive to the job. Do not bring in any kind of malpractice of running the machine. HANDLE THE MACHINE WITH CARE. SAFETY OF BOTH THE MACHINE AND MEN ARE IMPORTANT. BE AWAY FROM MOVING PARTS AND DANGEROUS AREAS OF THE MACHINE.

IV. AT THE COMPLETION OF EVERY SHIFT: Ensure that the filter screens are cleaned thoroughly before handing over the machine to the next shift. Depending on the fabric condition and type, the filter screens may require cleaning more than one time in a shift. Please note that the outer fine filter screens (with handle) only to be removed and cleaned while the machine is running. Ensure that minimum time is taken while cleaning the filter screens which are done when the machine is working. Both filter screens need to be removed for cleaning only when the hot air circulation fans are stopped. This will ensure, fluff or any other foreign particles directly reaching the heat exchangers and clogging of the same, thus reducing the heat transfer efficiency.
