The safety valves are designed according to the ASME code. All the safety valves are set in workshop by the manufacturer. The steam safety valves which are according to ASME I have to be tested on site. The set popping, the accumulation ~nd the blow down of these safety valves have to be calculated under the real operating conditions. The steam safety valves have two rings for the here-above mentioned calibration.

The steam safety valves at the superheater o~tlet must always open prior to the safety val ves on the drum.
Accumulation: full opening of the safety valve Set pressure: popping of the safety valve Blow down: closing of the valve once opened
