When it comes to safety on the road, you cant be too careful.Which is why weve drawn on our experience of developing active and passive safety features for the Peugeot 207 and evolved them specifically to suit a coup cabriolet.As a result, the 207 CC has been specifically engineered to protect you and your passengers, without losing any of its elegance.

Passive safety Your 207 CCs reinforced bodyshell is designed to absorb impact energy to protect you and your passengers. In the event of a head-on collision, the steering column moves down, lowering the chance of it harming the driver and cutting the risk of the engine and gearbox being pushed back into the cabin.The drivers footrest is also designed to absorb the shock of any impact, reducing the possibility of ankle injuries. Should you be hit from the side, its reassuring to know that youre protected by an armoured safety cell that has reinforcement panels built into the side. So everyones safe. You cant put a price on safety. Which is why your 207 CC comes with active roll hoops fitted as standard (the first car in its class to do so).These have been specially engineered to protect the heads of all occupants, whether the roof is up or down, should the unforeseen happen and the car rolls over during an accident. Weve also made sure that the front seat belts are equipped with both pretensioners and force-limiters and the two rear seat belts are equipped with force-limiters to keep everyone safely restrained in their seats during an impact. Plus, just to make doubly sure everyones secure, the fasten seat belt indicator will light up in the instrument panel should any of your passengers take their belt off. Beyond that, to give you the best possible protection in a crash, the new 207 also comes with: adaptive driver and front passenger airbags, which adjust to the severity of the impact, for head and upper body protection a steering column airbag to protect the drivers knees two thorax airbags integrated into the front seat frames protect the heads and chests of the driver and front seat passenger Your 207 CC can even carry little VIPs in complete safety.The front passenger seat is equipped with a 3-point ISOFIX attachment, plus weve added a switch that deactivates the passenger airbag so its totally safe, and legal, to put your little one up front in a rear facing baby seat. The new 207 even protects people outside your car.The front has been specifically designed to cause minimum injury to pedestrians in a collision. Finally, youll be pleased to know that weve also built-in a number of features to take care of your beloved 207 CC itself.To deter thieves and intruders, theres an anti-lift device plus anti-pick locks that disengage if anything other than the key is inserted.Theres also a coded antistart device, deadlocks, and a remote controlled alarm system*. Active safety Some days it seems like every road is just one long hazard. Fortunately, should your 207 CC need to stop in an emergency, or be in any danger of skidding, you have the reassurance of knowing that it has a sophisticated braking system on board, comprising: Anti-lock brakes (ABS), to help you retain control of the steering when you need to stop in an emergency. Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD), which steps in to apply braking force separately on individual wheels maintaining stability even when youre braking on a corner. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) increases your braking power to help you come to a halt quickly and safely. You also have the added benefit of our Electronic Stability Programme* (ESP), which performs four further functions for extra safety: Traction Control (ASR) adjusts your brake pressure, and if necessary the engine revs, to prevent the wheels from spinning when accelerating or on slippery road surfaces. Dynamic Stability Control (CDS) continuously monitors and compares data transmitted by both the steering wheel sensor and the yaw sensor to detect any over or understeer, discretely re-balancing the car where necessary. Low Dynamic ESP (LDE) makes minor corrections to your brake pressure around bends to avoid any loss of control. (New feature.) Understeer Control Logic (UCL) reduces road speed by cutting the throttle and applying brake force to two wheels if any understeer occurs. (New feature.) The 207 CC puts your safety first in other ways too.The high-intensity headlamps feature static directional headlights** which make it easier to spot cyclists or pedestrians at the side of the road. And if you do have to brake sharply, the cars hazard warning lights will come on automatically to warn drivers behind. So as you can see, if its worth doing, the 207 CC does it well.
