Attention Altar Servers An Altar Server meeting will take place in the Church, February 9, from 11:45 am1:30 pm Attendance is mandatory for those who have signed up to be altar servers. See you there. Fr. Anthony TIME The holidays are well behind us; the year stretches out ahead. And what sort of year will it be? To judge by the words of Jesus in todays Gospel, it will be a year acceptable to the Lord. And Jesus surely didnt mean only the next three hundred sixty-five days facing his listeners at that time. When Jesus announced the arrival of Gods favor, it was a message for all time, for every year. Similarly, we read today in Nehemiah how the people gathered with solemnity to hear Gods word as though for the first time. They listened, and then fell to the ground and wept. But the prophet said, Today is holy . . . do not be sad, and do not weep. The year acceptable to the Lord is this year. The day that is holy is this day. The time to listen is now. What sort of year will you have? What sort of day? Gods help is always here. What you do with each day can be holy and acceptable to the Lord if you but listen to and act on Gods word. Copyright J. Please spend some time this week reflecting on the Annual Catholic Appeal brochure that you received with your bulletin. Please remember that the Annual Catholic Appeal campaign is much different than a one-time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift payable in installments. As you review the work enabled by your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal, please reflect on Gods gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. Your gifts to our parish, to the Archdiocese and to the work of the Church throughout the world are given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you. Sometimes it is difficult to envision how one pledge can help an organization the size of our Archdiocese, how it can make a real difference. But each pledge does make a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services. Our combined gifts not only signify our gratitude to God, they fund a significant portion of the work of our Archdiocese. After our parish goal of $53,570.00 is reached in cash, 100% of the additional funds come back to our parish to help to fund our needs. If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass next weekend. For those of you that did not receive a mailing or have not had time to respond to it, we will conduct our in-pew pledge process at all Masses next weekend. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous response.

(Poonchkey) time is already upon us. The Christmas trees have barely been taken down and its time for those delicious jelly filled paczki before we begin Lent on Ash Wednesday. The price is the same as last year: $5.00 for a box of 6 paczkis from Bobaks - 2 apricot, 2 strawberry and 2 blueberry. All profits will stay here for operating expenses for our Pro-Life Committee. The sale will be the weekend of February 9/10 after Masses. We have ordered 100 boxes, more this year hoping we wont run out again and hoping all who buy will enjoy them.
