Partial Rerouting (PR)

1 Denition
The feature Partial Rerouting (PR) enables a subscriber of an ISDN PBX to reroute call requests from the PSTN to any destination directory number in the PSTN. The destination number to which the call is to be forwarded is specified by the forwarding PBX. When an authorized PBX requests Partial Rerouting (PR), the network node creates a direct connection between the calling subscriber and the subscriber to whom the call is to be forwarded. The call to the PBX is released. There are thus two free B channels, one incoming and one outgoing. These channels can be used for other connections. Partial Rerouting is relevant in association with the following features: Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) Call Forwarding on Busy (CFB) Call Forwarding on No Reply (CFNR)

Interactions For interaction with other features, see Feature Interactions. Standards The feature is based on the following standards: ETS 300 199 ETS 300 200 ETS 300 201 ETS 300 203 ETS 300 204 ETS 300 205 ETS 300 207

2 Mode of operation
The feature Partial Rerouting (PR) is performed on the basis of the feature Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU), Call Forwarding on Busy (CFB) or Call Forwarding on No Reply (CFNR), implemented in the PBX. In addition to having this authorization, the PBX must also support the corresponding feature. The forwarding directory number to which the call is to be rerouted is specified by the rerouting subscriber (within the PBX). In the exchange the CP checks the forwarding directory number offered by the PBX. Forwarding directory numbers that are not allowed are: directory numbers that are unknown to the CP directory numbers blocked by the exchange for rerouting (e.g. police and emergency numbers) directory numbers belonging to a trafc restriction category which is active for the PBX directory numbers belonging to a trafc type which was blocked for rerouting. With a facility D-channel message the PBX requests Partial Rerouting from the exchange. In addition to the request for PR, the D-channel message contains, among other things, the forwarding directory number to which the call is to be rerouted, the number of reroutings for this call and the number of the calling subscriber. The exchange checks the authorization of the PBX for PR, the forwarding directory number to which the call is to be rerouted and the number of reroutings for this call. If the result is positive, the exchange releases the connection to the PBX and sets up a direct connection between the the calling subscriber and the subscriber to whom the call is to be forwarded. If the exchange rejects Partial Rerouting, the call is handed back to the PBX and a fault message is sent to the PBX. The number of call forwarding procedures that can be performed in succession is specified by the operator for each network node. A maximum of ten successive call forwarding procedures is possible. The number of Partial Reroutings (PR) that can be carried out simultaneously equals the number of available outgoing and bothway B channels of a PBX. Operator and wake-up calls are not forwarded.

Additional authorizations In connection with the Partial Rerouting feature, the following additional authorizations can be granted for the PBX: The calling subscriber receives an indication, optionally with or without a display of the forwarding directory number, that his or her call is being rerouted. The directory number of the PBX is made available to the forwarding subscriber. The complete direct inward dialing number is displayed if the PBX has a direct inward dialing authorization. This option does not require additional authorization since it is supported as standard for PR.

3 Subscriber controlled input

The feature can only be controlled with the functional protocol.

4 Call charge registration

Call charge registration is possible with: Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration Pulse Metering Flat rate Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) and pulse metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated for pulse metering. Charges for feature input and feature usage The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and feature usage are assigned to the subscriber. The following call charge registration is possible: Facility input by operator (FAIO) Facility input by subscriber (FAIS) Facility usage (FAU)

5 Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of user-friendly applications or MML commands.
