NOTICE PROPOSAL FOR ON-LINE CLASSES IN FRENCH It is proposed to start on-line classes in French in collaboration with a company called

Click-onFrench. The classes will be delivered on line and the basic course will be of 25 hours duration. The study material has been prepared by faculty with a background of Alliance Francaise. At the end of the course module a test would be held by the Embassy of France. A certificate would be awarded to the successful candidates by the Embassy of France. In addition, Chitkara University would also hold its own test and award a certificate to successful candidates. The course will train students on Communicative French and each lesson will have a specific aim. Moreover, the module has been tailored to suit Indian conditions and would have a fair sprinkling of Indian culture. Being an on-line course the students can set their own pace of studies. They could study at home or at the University campus but an internet connection would be required. The speed of the internet would not be an inhibiting factor. Click-on-French has agreed to provide a 40% discount to Chitkara students on the basic module. The fee structure and associated facilities would be as follows: Type of Module Basic Fee Structure Rs 3990.00 less 40% discount i.e. Rs 2394.00 Rs 3990.00 less 40% discount i.e. Rs 2394.00 plus Rs 4000 for the services of a tutor i.e. Rs 6394.00 Rs 3990.00 less 40% discount i.e. Rs 2394.00 plus Rs 7000 for the services of a tutor i.e. Rs 9394.00 Remarks Course would be delivered on line through audio mode. A tutor would be assigned to the student for six months and the student would be able to interact with the tutor through emails.

Payment would be made to Click-on-French through a demand draft. Students who successfully pass the Basic course would have the option to pursue higher level courses. The modalities for the same would be worked out later depending upon the demand from students. For these courses the students would be divided into groups of 10 each. A live demonstration of the Basic module would be given to the students by Click-on-French before they enroll for the course.Students desirous of joining the course should give their names to Dy- Dean Students Affairs by forenoon of January 21, 2013. A briefing session in this regard will be conducted by Vice-Chancellor CU-HP in the afternoon on 21st Jan 2013 in De-Morgan Hall.
