Office Buildings Drains Diameters Reduced by More Than Half

This office building experienced failures with its vertical drain lines, which are located inside a chase, inside walls. Upon inspection, more than half of the pipes diameter was blocked with scale and debris build-up. The building engineer knew that the pipes had to be repaired, so he took the time to research a solution that would cause the least amount of disruption to the building. Project: Use Nu Drain to rehabilitate failing drain pipes without disrupting the office buildings tenants. Site: A 20-story office building in Los Angeles, California. System: The vertical cast iron drain stack with diameters of 3" and 4". These pipes are hidden in a chase that is located behind walls and in the ceiling. Problem: This aged, vertical drain stack experienced failures due to heavy build-up that was blocking more than half the available flow. The pipes are located in a chase, which makes the pipes difficult to access. The customer wanted to rehabilitate the pipes without disrupting the offices. Circumvention: If the customer had chosen a traditional method of repair, such as a repipe, it would have caused a lot of damage and disruption. The walls would have to be torn down and the chase would have to be opened. This would be an expensive and messy repair, which was completely avoided by choosing Nu Flows non-destructive solution.
