Overview & Purpose To create initial relationship with children, begin working on getting to know them, to assess their understanding of the outside world in regards to occupations and begin working towards the final project.
Final Outcome A good repertoire is beginning to develop between us and the children, they seem to be confident with us and seem to already be enjoying our ideas.
Student Guide
To gain confidence in talking as a big group, and in acting. To feel confident with us teaching them
To begin to create a repertoire with students To get them talking and discussing occupations in society To get them comfortable with acting and talking in a group Just obtaining from the students what careers they are aware of, and how knowledgeable they are of society. One on one discussions -Question and Answer relating to occupations discussion.
Materials Needed Props resembling occupations such as firefighters, police officers, ambulance crews etc.

Asking students what their parents/family do as a job, and what they want to do when older, then getting them to act out that role in a stereotypical way fun and engaging as well as educational.
Summary
An introductory session so the children get comfortable with the idea of acting and being with us. Introducing our ideas and what we wish to achieve

Week 2 It Begins!
Grade Level: Year 1 Subject: Drama Community Project Prepared By: Team Tick Tock Overview & Purpose To continue to build up the relationship between ourselves and the class. To begin to introduce the ideas of occupations, and to what knowledge they already have. Final Outcome Introduced the idea of the jobs to some children had more of an understanding compared to others. However they all seemed to react well to being nurses, builders and took mre understanding about them away from the lesson.

Setting up mats in a room for the children to explore, where numerous dressing up clothes are placed around. To talk about what jobs they want to do, then act it out as a class.
Summary
Begin to introduce our aims and objectives of the workshops, whilst continuing to build up a repertoire with the children.
To allow the students to gain confidence with us and begin working with us towards the final project.
Additional Notes Boxing Monkey a stuffed animal the children use to talk to us if theyre nervous.

To move as if in a space environment and feel comfortable with this To understand how each occupation works with another To continue to build confidence. To learn not only about jobs but space, and how it differs from earth.
To get them used to the idea of being in space- moving around slowly, moving around obstacles. To have them interact with each other as their occupation and now just themselves. Talk about space, and how it links to our idea of segregating us from humanity and having to survive for ourselves. Demonstrate moving in space etc By assessing the children in the activities and see whether they are conforming to what they have been taught Turn the hall into a different planet, using mats, cones, benches, walk around this planet exploring everything. Get to and from the space ship by crawling over into a shuttle;. Taking off by using the parachute, going underneath it to create a dome after using it to play some games

Summary
An introductory session into the concept of us going into space, to see how they react with the surroundings, and what understanding they take.
To allow the students to gain confidence with the new ideas, see whether they like what they are doing.

To understand the importance of occupations in the world, to experiment with them, and to gain a greater understanding at how the world works. Give us information on what they take out of being all these new and different roles, what they think their jobs are to do etc. Through question and answer and one on one talks telling us how they are feeling towards the exercises. To bring everything together that we had been working with the children on. To get the children to react with drama more, and not be afraid to lead. Letting them know that they are in control. Elaborate on the occupations, so they learn more about them One on one discussions Question and Answer relating to occupations discussion. Generally watching the childrens reactions to the task. Going into space again using the benches and parachutes. 4 different groups of main occupations, then role plays which incorporate their activities. Parachute games at the end.

Summary
To finish off the workshops by bringing all the elements of previous work shops together, and to see how the childrens confidence has grown, and also their understanding of the more adult world.
