iStudent
iStudent is the student portion of our Student Information System called iPass. iStudent is designed to provide an additional means of communication and sharing between students, parents, teachers and administrators. iStudent allows students to keep track of their attendance, grades, and discipline. It allows you to view your schedule and assignments.
This year the High School will also begin using iStudent for online student scheduling. Every student at the High School and every Grade 8 student at the McGlynn and Andrews Middle Schools will receive a username and password. During the months of February and March students will log into their accounts and begin entering their online student requests with the help of their Guidance Department. Parents who have an iParent account will be able to login to their accounts and approve their childs requests. If you do not have an iParent account, you can request one by going to the Medford Public Schools website. Select iParent under the For Parents tab. Please read over this documentation carefully. Once you create your new password, it is important that you always remember it. Also, iStudent contains your personal information and it is up to you to keep that information confidential. Do not share your password with other students.

Logging into your iStudent Account

When logging in for the first time, you will enter your username and password that was assigned to you. You will then be prompted to create a new password. Please follow the directions below for the new password requirements. 1. 2. 3. Go to the Medford Public Schools website at: www.medford.k12.ma.us Click on the For Students tab and select iStudent The link will bring you to the log in page of iPass/iParent/iStudent

Enter your user id in the User Id: box Enter your temporary password in the Password: box Click to be taken to the Password Change Screen

New Password Requirements: Must be at least 8 characters long A Password cannot contain your User id A Password must contain both Upper and Lower case characters A Password must contain at least one number A Password must contain at least one of these special characters: o For example: !,@,#,$, %, ^, ?, _, <, >, /

Click in Current Password: and enter the default password you were given. 8. Click in New Password: and create a new password. 9. Click in Re-Type New Password: and enter the new password again keeping in mind the password requirements listed above. 10. You will then be logged into your iStudent account.

Viewing your iStudent Account

Once your password is updated, you will be brought to the iStudent screen. From this screen you can click on the + sign next to iStudent and view your student information.

Password Tips: If you think your password has been compromised, change it IMMEDIATELY You can change your password anytime by selecting My Data, Change Password If you forget your password, you can request a reset ONLY if you have a valid email address in iStudent (verify this under iStudent Biographical) If you do not have a valid email address, please send a request to the iPass Administrator at ipassadmin@medford.k12.ma.us

Logging out of iStudent

Once you are done viewing your student information in iStudent, be sure to Logout. Click on the + sign next to Logout and then click on Logout or you can click on the Logout icon located at the top of the screen.
