PATHS TO PROSPERITY

We live in an age when ideas and inspiration cross borders at the push of a button. I can tell you from the more than 50 town halls I have hosted in every corner of our province that Ontarians are looking for a new approach. They see their once-thriving province struggling under massive deficits and debt. The priorities their tax dollars pay for like classroom education and front-line health care are in trouble, thanks to a decade of reckless spending by the current government. And they know too that, for the first time in our history, Ontario is dependent on cash transfers from others in Confederation, making us, embarrassingly, a have-not province. People ask me, Why? Why is this happening to us? And, What can we do to fix it? Its not our fate to be at the back of the pack in Canada. Its not our future to be mired in bureaucracy when we need real help especially in our health care system. We shouldnt have to put the service back into public service. But here we are, in 2013, when it seems thats just what we have to do. There is a way out of this mess. The Ontario PC Caucus is laying out a path to rein in spending, balance our budget and kick-start job creation. Were tabling bold new ideas for getting our fiscal house in order and our economic fundamentals right to give investors the confidence that they can succeed and create good jobs in Ontario, with lower taxes, less regulation, and strong transportation networks to get their goods to market on time (and to get us back home in good time at night). But heres the thing: These ideas are only as good as my ability to share them with each of you, and to make it possible for you to share them with your family, friends and colleagues. So were taking our Paths to Prosperity ideas digital, using a platform that will enable you to share in the discussion we need to have about making Ontario the place it was supposed to be and can be again: a place of unbounded promise, prosperity and opportunity. This Digital White Paper Collection is a simple, interactive and sharable online viewer for our seven white papers to-date that you can use on any device you own. In their next Premier, Ontarians are looking for someone who can end the overspending and get our economy back in shape so it can create good jobs again. We shouldnt hire someone for the job who has given up on our province, and thinks the only challenge left is to manage our decline. Here we have laid out ideas driven by the optimism that I know is in every Ontarians heart .
