Sentence 1 In his New York Times article, The G.O.P. Fact Vacuum (31 August 2012), Charles M. Blow explicitly questions the motives behind the Republican Parties rhetoric by stating, Honesty is a lost art. Facts are for losers. The truth is dead, which indicates what Blow, thinks about the partys propaganda. Sentence 2 Blow begins with the use of ethos and continues to include credible and reliable sources such as a Washington Post blog saying the ordeal is factually shaky, he then shifts midway through the article and begins to utilize logos where he includes exact statistics of fabrications and states, Nearly 1 in 10 statements by Romney earned flaming slacks, versus 1 out of every 50 for Obama, changing the argument appeal; Blow then goes on to finish with rhetorical questions such as If we allow our leaders to completely abandon any semblance of honesty, what do we have left, allowing the audience to walk away with a newly found perspective on the Republican Party. Sentence 3 The authors purpose is to acquaint the audience with information of the blatant lies and fallacies in not only Paul Ryans political speech, but the entire Republican Party in order to sway the readers opinions and open their eyes to the underlying discretions of the Republicans in the 2012 election. Sentence 4 Blow uses a factual; beyond any doubt tone in alluding to the Democratic Party and those who are indecisive about which candidate to side with in the upcoming election, so that they become aware of the slanderous Republican Party and their tactics they use to win the popular vote.
