SINGLE PHASE AC DRIVE

Synopsis: The objective of this project is to control an AC motor by using SCR. Normally SCRs are used for DC controlled application, but in this project we use SCR for AC control and is done by connecting two SCRs back to back anti- parallel. Such that it can control both the positive and negative half cycles. The Gate driven Voltage of SCR is generated by using micro controller and fed to DAC, which converts the digital signals from the microcontroller into analog, the controller senses the key input and produces digital data according to it. The microcontroller that has been used for the project is from PIC series. PIC microcontroller is the first RISC based microcontroller fabricated in CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) that uses separate bus for instruction and data allowing simultaneous access of program and data memory. Technology that is used in PIC16F877 is flash technology, so that data is retained even when the power is switched off. Easy Programming and Erasing are other features of PIC 16F877. By implementing this system we change the motor rotating direction by just pressing a button. The ON/OFF, jogging, plugging and breading of an AC motor are also done with higher resolution.

GSM BASED DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER MONITORING SYSTEM


Synopsis: The objective of this project is to monitor the transformer parameters such as voltage, temperature and oil level and these parameters is send as SMS to the mobile phones. Voltage of the transformer is measure with the help of a potential transformer. The potential transformer will convert the mains supply voltage to low voltage AC. That AC voltage will be rectified with the help of a precision rectifier. Then the rectified output will be given to the micro controller through an analog to digital converter. Temperature sensor is used to monitor temperature level in the transformer. The temperature sensor output is given to microcontroller through amplifier. Then the microcontroller will receive above mentioned parameter and display on the LCD display which equal to monitored parameters. The fuel level is measured using float sensor which is special type of sensor in which the resistance value is converted into variable voltage signal through voltage converter circuit. The converted voltage signal is given into the amplifier in order to amplify the voltage signal. Then the amplified voltage signal is given to ADC. STATIONERY PICK AND PLACE ROBOT


Synopsis: The objective of this project is to design the stationery robot for pick and place application. This project is used in the industrial companies for pick and place application. Mainly used for precious material handling application. This project is designed with microcontroller, driver circuit along with motor. Robot with pick & place model and key pad. In this project key pad is consists of set of keys which specify the operation such as arm up and down. The key pad is interfaced to microcontroller through I/O port. Here the microcontroller is the flash type reprogrammable microcontroller in which we have already programmed. When the key is pressed, the microcontroller activates the driver circuit as per mentioned in the program. The driver circuit is construed with transistor which acts as switch to control the relay. The relay output is directly connected to motor which is attached in the robot. For an example when arm down key is pressed, the signal from the key is given to microcontroller. So the microcontroller activates the corresponding relay through the drive circuit. Now the arm moves to down side. Through this way arm is controlled for pick and place application.

POWER CONSERVATION USING TAKING ENERGY METER


Synopsis: The objective of the project is to monitor the energy consumed and the intimation thro voice signal, when the consumption is high. Energy meters are used to measure the amount of electricity consumed, it track the total amount of kilowatt hours used over a given period. Here the amount of energy used is monitored by the controller and if the consumption of power is more, voice signal produced to intimate that to reduce the power consumption. This project consist of, PIC Controller Energy Meter Voice IC VCD

The energy meter can be either the traditional or modern digital energy meter. Using the pulse detection circuit the controller monitors energy meter and the kilowatts hour consumed by the consumer is displayed in the LCD, if the power consumption limit of the day exceeds alarm is given.
