Round 1: CLEAR THE TRAP 120 questions - 3 minutes. Read the question paper thoroughly, and answer them quickly. Qualified teams will be promoted to the 2nd round.

Round 2: VID-SHOW Qualified teams will be shown few videos based on chemical procedure (or) technology based (or) general, whatever appears, is to be identified and reported within 30 seconds.

Round 3: BUZZ-IT This round is a buzzer round. Series of 30 questions will be asked. The first one to buzz will be given 10 seconds to answer with the count starting from the buzz immediately. The more you answer, the luckier you get to win.

Rules & Regulations: 3 members per team. No passing of questions is entertained in this event. Every wrong answer carries negative marking of a mark.

2.Extempore ..... Spot n cerebrate

In the field of science being sportive, logical and fast are the essentials for survival. All of us are capable of building up an essay in exam for any topic. Now, it is time to put this talent (except for that the content should be relevant unlike your exam essays) into action. This is an event in which you will have to be spontaneous, logical, and quick in thinking. This is the time for you to check yourself how prepared you are in any field of science.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

This event tests your subjective skills along with your wit. The event consists of 2 rounds.

Round 1: In this round, the participant will take out a slot from the already given topics and speak on it for 5 minutes and 2minutes to answer the questions asked by the respective judges. The topics are given below:Acute lymphoblastic leukemia Genomics Protein -protein interaction Polypeptides Bone tumor Immune system Diabetes mellitus HIV AIDS Lysozyme Antigen-presenting cells Helper T cells Immuno deficiencies Bacterial cell Paper chromatography

Judgment will be based on how reasonable you are with the topic and even how effective you attract the judges.

Round 2: In this round, topics will be given on the spot and you will be given maximum of 7 minutes to think and then speak on it for 7 minutes with perfect explanations.

Rules Individual participation. Talk should be based on the given topic. Judges decision will be considered final.

3. Prob-Refecto ..... Solution finders

As we know there are many problems related to science mainly in agriculture, so we have to find out solutions for those using biotechnology.

EVENT DESCRIPTION : Participants have to prepare power point presentation with the perfect solution to the problem statement given.

PROBLEM STATEMENT: How to make efficient organic farming using latest technology ?

Rules and Regulations: Solutions should be strictly based on biotechnology. You have to get your own laptops to present your presentations. Judgment will be based on the appealing solutions, which can be implemented. Judges decision will be considered final.

4. Ideateen ..... Change the world

Science is a universe which defines our universe. Thoughts, logic & creativity form the base line for the people related to science. Being creative is an art. Be crazy to be creative and create some crazy ideas which would change the world of science and agriculture. Round 1: The team has to get the models and explain it to judges . Round 2: The team has to design a model in the given time by using the waste products in the given time .The judgment will be based on how effective the models are been made and how innovative and creative are been made . Rules Team should consist of 3 participants. The ideas should be presented in the form of models. Things required for the event should be brought by the respective teams.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA: Judgement will be based on the craziest idea brought up by the teams thus participating.

5.Heatchem Up ..... heat generation

In todays world where our requirements are exceeding the limits over necessity, it has become mandatory not to waste optimization and conservation which play a prominent role in promoting TECHNOLOGY. Heat'chem Up is an event which pushes one to conserve and optimize. Now it is your chance to prove yourself by using efficient chemicals. This event requires creativity and focused thoughts that lead to minimising the use of energy.

Problem statement: The setup should consist of three chambers; total base area of the setup should not exceed 2 ft square. In the 2nd chamber, you are required to produce heat using a chemical reaction (obviously exothermic). You will be provided with KCL solution (at apprx. 12C) to fill the first chamber and the last chamber. Capacity of each of these two chambers must be at least 1 litre. Minimum of 1 inch gap should be maintained uniformly between all the chambers (i.e. between 1st and 2nd; 2nd and 3rd). And it can be filled with a conducting medium. The selection of conducting medium depends on you. The challenge of the event lies in effectively transferring the heat from first and last chamber to the middle one.

Rules and Regulation: Usage of hydrocarbons, electricity, battery, cells, fuels in the heat production is strictly prohibited Heat is to be produced within the chamber. No external heat source should be used. Duration of the event is 45 minutes. Equipment set up and chemicals required for the heat source should be brought by the participants. Only aq. KCL solution will be provided. Amount of KCL solution provided is 1 litre each in first and third chamber. Maximum amount of students per team is 3. Team which doesnt follow any of these rules and regulations will be eliminated. Chemicals used should not be explosive.

Judgement criteria: The team which raises the temperature to the maximum in the 2 rd chamber in less time will bang first prize. If any other team will produce heat similar to them with more economic and eco-friendly one will be given preference first. Equipment and its design.

6. BIOLUMOS:
To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk, these are the words of Thomas Alva Edison the inventor of the light bulb. For those of you who are yearning to put these words into practice, "Lumos" presents a perfect platform. In these days of energy crisis lighting a bulb has become quite a problem. Solve a problem by generating electricity through biological source. Now its your chance to prove yourself by using your creativity and focused thoughts. Rules and Regulations: All the voltage regulating compounds should be of biochemical nature. Use of capacitors and other external voltage storage or amplifications devices are strictly prohibited. Maximum number of students per team is 3.

Event details: Round 1: Its an aptitude test which consists of descriptive part which explores your talent in preparing biochemical cell. In this round you will be judged based on both aptitude test and the way you answer your descriptive part. (Procedure of making the cell). Round 2: You need to design the biochemical cell in the given time.

The participants should bring voltage generating source ( biochemical product) of your choice as mentioned in round 1 and also galvanized nails, copper plates and connecting wires.

Judgment criteria: Time taken for the preparation of the cell. The design of the biochemical cell and the number of LEDs lightened.
