Goals of this class: 1. Students will learn grammar, vocabulary, and culture through English Speaking conversations and activities according to level of course. 2. Students will review weekly lessons and prepare themselves the chapter lessons prior to coming to class. It is each students responsibility to study all grammar and vocabulary prior to coming to the English class. 3. Students will speak at least 90% English during each English class. 4. Students will attend all scheduled English classes. It is the students responsibility to arrive to class at the scheduled time, come back from break on time, and stay in class until dismissed by teacher. (Any special circumstances must be approved by English teacher and/or BOSTON administration.) Requirements of the class: 1. Students must complete all assignments, both oral and written. 2. Students must participate in class in the form of asking questions, commenting, taking notes, paying attention, supporting other students. Expectations of each student: 1. Students must complete all assignments on time. 2. Students must come to class on time-this means, be sitting in your seat with notebook and pen ready at the time when class is scheduled to start. 3. Students must come to every class prepared -this means, having done all assignments and readings, with all supplies (like pen and paper), and ready to participate. Class readings: In addition to textbook, the English professor may include special speaking activities and conversation related to topic of weekly lesson and/or current events. Students should take notes in class. Articles in English will be distributed for students to read. They will discussed in class. YOU MUST read all the articles! Occasionally, occasional handouts may be given from time to time. Any handout should be placed in students notebooks. Four things are important for English classes. 1. If student does not participate in class, the highest grade he/she can get is a B. 2. Students must attend on time all scheduled classes, exams, interviews, etc. to achieve the highest grade possible. 3. Each student must complete all assigned projects and homework to achieve highest grade possible. 4. Student must speak minimal 90% English to achieve highest possible grade.
