3) Presentation Title: “Restoring Hormonal Balance: Realizing Relief while Reducing Risk”

4) Description: Hormone imbalance, in particular, has been implicated in many conditions

plaguing women today. This lecture will discuss the naturopathic approach to restoring
hormone balance and resolving discomfort. Drs. Lucille and Daenell will share how natural
options can be used in conjunction with or as an alternative to hormone replacement.

5) Abstract: Women’s health is profoundly affected the body’s ability to maintain hormonal
balance. And today, hormonal imbalances are increasingly prevalent, especially the condition
of estrogen dominance, an imbalance involving too much estrogen with corresponding lower
levels of progesterone. Not only is this imbalance implicated in stubborn weight gain and
obesity, it is associated with increased risks of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancers and
cervical dysplasia – a precancerous condition marked by changes in the cells of the cervix.

Optimal treatment for symptoms associated with hormone imbalance is still widely debated
in the medical community, with therapies ranging from hormone replacement to herbal
support. In addition, patients are struggling with the mixed media messages regarding the
safety and efficacy of both options. “Restoring Hormonal Balance: Realizing Relief while
Reducing Risk” will address patient concerns and discuss the practice of safe, effective
treatment options. Drs. Lucille and Daenell will share nutritional therapies that can ease
symptoms of hormone imbalance and discuss how these natural options can be used in
conjunction with or as an alternative to hormone replacement therapies.
