#66 Bike the Bridge!

Ride the SeaBus, find some lions and cruise Stanleys trails on the Tour Port Metro Vancouver Cue Sheet: 1. Our tour starts at the foot of Main Street inVancouver. Cross the Overpass and notice the Lion
Statues greeting at Portside Park. 2. Ride the gravel paths around Portside Park and find lots of art along the way, have a look at the workings of the port giant cranes, fire and rescue boats, cruise ship pier and helicopters coming and going. 3. Exit the park at the west side and turn right on Waterfront Road towards the SeaBus dock 4. The SeaBus entrance is an unmarked door on the far right of the east side of the building- enter here and purchase a ticket for the ride across the harbour! 5. At the North Vancouver side, turn right and walk bikes through Lonsdale Quay and then continue eastward on the Spirit Trail to the new pier at Wallace Shipyards. Go to the end of the pier and soak in the amazing view of Vancouvers fantastic port ! 6. Back track west through Lonsdale Quay and continue west along Chadwick (signs say walk bikes here for one block ) dont go up Chesterfield 7. continue west along Waterfront Park (washrooms here) 8. enter Spirit Trail at west side of the building 9. trail ends at Mosquito Creek Marina but will be bridged over laterso for now 10. Go to north side of the parking lot and cross at the railway crossing. 11. Sharp left/west on Esplanade West riding past St. Pauls Catholic Church 12. right/north Delbrucke 13. left/west 3rd Street might have to walk bikes along this busy sidewalk 14. left/west 2nd street 15. left/south Bewicke Avenue and follow new section of trail linking to Harbourside Place 16. left/south Harbourside Place another great view of our port -- pick up the trail along the Kings Mill Walk and follow the bike route For Lunch or coffee Thomas Haas is located at the roundabout
near the high school 998 Harbourside Drive (604) 924-1847 Closed Mondays!

right/north following the signs for the Spirit Trail go over the overpass to 1st Street and MacKay cross at lights and follow trail west along Welch from there the trail is well marked continue along the trail and follow the signs to the Lions Gate bridge Bike The Bridge !!! Find the Lions statue at the south end of the bridge and then turn sharp north to find the trail to Prospect Pointclimbing up (and probably walking bikes) resist the urge to roll downhill to the Seawall. Prospect Point has great views and a place for a snack + washrooms Head south across the zebra crosswalk and enter Stanley Parks trails! You can ride these paths for Hours! Today we followed Bridle Path south, circled Beaver Lake and rode down Lovers Trail. Theres lots to explore along these trails. You can pick and choose your route from the Stanley Parks trail map. After the park head east along the Seaside bike route and follow the bike path under the Convention Center for a safe return ride off the busy city streets!
