Ruby Redfort Look Into My Eyes

written and illustrated by LAUREN CHILD

Meet Ruby Redfort:

Code cracker. Secret Agent. Schoolgirl.
The most striking thing about Ruby Redfort was that when you met her you felt a strong need for her to like you. Thirteen-year-old girl. Every smart kids smart kid. Sassy, cute, brainy, and fearless (well, except for small dark spaces, which she is rather scared of . . . but isnt everybody?)

Sardonic narration will grab readers

from the get-go, and puzzles laced throughout will intrigue those who share Rubys passion for solving mysteries.
Publishers Weekly (starred review)
Everyone knows that Clarice Bean is exceptionordinarily keen on the Ruby Redfort books. Ruby, a genius codecracker and daring detective, along with her sidekick butler, Hitch, work for a secret crime-busting organization and get into lots of scrapes with evil villains. Just take a classic screwball comedy, add heaps of breathtaking action, and multiply it by Lauren Childs writing genius, and what have you got? Only the most exciting new middle-grade series since, like, ever.

Appearance:
At first glance a very ordinary-looking kid. Petite. Small for her years. Eyes: different shades of green Teeth: small, doll-like Hair: dark brown, side parting across her right eye, always secured by a barrette

Attire:
Shes got her own style. Occasionally wears vintage dresses bought at yard sales. Usually seen in jeans, sneakers, a T-shirt printed with either a somewhat hostile word, bozo, an interesting number like 1729, or some less than agreeable statement, bored beyond belief.
