    DEDICATION

    My greatest thanksgiving and honor is to the Lord and the Holy Spirit for bringing me to this far. Without the grace and direction of God, there is no way- I of all people can be where I am. It is an honor to be an author for the Lord and am grateful to His faithfulness. My other thanks is to my wife- Colita and kids who through all this time, has been supportive to the honor given me. And not forgetting my Pastors and Bishops and colleagues in the Lighthouse Chapel International. Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and Bishop Richard Aryee has been my inspiration through-out all these years of writing what God wants me to.

    May God bless each person greatly for all little part played in my life and walk with God. Only the Lord and the Heavens can reward you.

    PREFACE

    God’s anointing through grace is the most amazing thing ever happened to anyone in this hypocritical and ungrateful universe. Indeed, we have in our midst a Gracious God who can only preserve us just as ungrateful we are and yet love us beyond our imaginations. I mean who will sacrifice his only begotten Son for the sake of those who hated him and have proved beyond all truths to continuously disobey and wrong him daily. Nobody in this earth will ever do so; because naturally we do well to those who deserves our goodness, not to those who hates us? But God sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to come and live and die on this earth, so that I, you and all sinners will be saved. This is what is called Great Amazing Grace’?

    Prowess is a devotional guide-book strategically written to inspire, personify and empower Christians and other followers of God about the magnificence and greatness of the God we worship and adore. He Is indeed Great. If one wants to experience the anointing of God differently and experience the teaching, direction and love of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and God the father, then this is the type of book specially prepared under the guidance of the Messenger of God; it distinguishes between true love of God and ordinary love, how we can be led and how even our past problems and circumstances can be transformed to being good to honor God. It speaks about the anointing and its effectiveness in our lives. The understanding of the anointing has been a unique topic for many believers, yet not many followers of Christ knows the anointing. Sometimes it is very difficult to get motivated, if such a significant part of our walk with God is not manifested in our lives. I heard about the anointing when I was about twenty years old (some 16 years ago), and have accepted Christ as my personal Savior. I became attracted to the anointing, and I promised myself to seek, research and know much about the Holy Spirit and the magnificent roles he plays in our daily living; though I never thought of one day going to write about Him. That is what God does, He desire us from the moment we desire Him and as time goes on He reveals our secret desires publicly. for the gifting and calling of God is without repentance [Rom.11:29]. After all, desire in itself is from the Lord and not any feelings. I believe now is the time, the Lord wanted somebody like myself, without any recognition or whatsoever to share to the world, what we might either known already but not seen in a different way or might not know and yet have not desired to seek for it as people (believers and unbelievers), Christians of spiritual encounters and even to those who experiences this great gift of God’s presence through the Holy Spirit. This book can be used to serve many purposes to the Christian brethren. It can be used as a guide into receiving to anointing; it can be used as a text book in the ministry to teach believers who are interested to receiving the anointing or Holy ghost baptism; it can be used as a reading top-up.

    PART ONE

    The Anointing & Christian Life

    CHAPTER ONE

    The Anointing

    I began talking to the Lord about the anointing on July 2010, in my little room from dawn 01.00am until 04.00am, then He began to speak- My child, I designed you with my very own hands. I formed in you the nature that you need to overcome the enemy and the heart in you to press passed your limitations. You have been fearfully and wonderfully made. There is nothing that you cannot accomplish, no stronghold that you cannot tear down. The work that I have done in you is a perfect work. I have clothed you with my blood and showered you with my favor and protection. So always remember who you are and never be concerned about the trials that may come your way. For I have given you my authority and power. I have given you my seal and I have put a big bold title in front of your name. It reads - overcomer, says the Lord.

    The Spirit of God was not regularly and consistently active throughout Israel’s history; neither was it random. It falls into five clearly defined periods which correspond to critical phases in the spiritual development of the nation. These periods are, the founding of the nation in the wilderness, the period of the Judges, the founding of the Monarchy, the time of Elijah and Elisha and the period of the Exile and Restoration.

    ✓ The founding of the nation in the wilderness showed the Spirit of God working in certain ways. One of the first ways we see the Spirit being used, is in filling men and women to make the priestly garments. These garments had to be made in a certain manner. God gave these workers the knowledge and ability to do what was asked. He did the same for the making of the furniture as well as the utensils that were to be used. Another way God imparted His Spirit was for the ability to lead His people. This time Moses was the recipient. But the Lord saw that Moses still needed help in leading the people, and placed His Spirit upon the elders to help lead the people. As a result of this they prophesied once. Then we see Balaam, who was to curse the Israelites, prophesy blessings upon them. Again this was only done because the Spirit came upon Him. Then finally, in the first section of Israel’s history, we come to Joshua receiving the Spirit of the Lord so he can succeed Moses. Moses laid hands upon Joshua for this to happen.

    ✓ During the period of the Judges the Spirit exclusively worked through the Judges. Gods Spirit caused them to either become great military leaders or Charismatic leaders. Some were give great strength while other received great abilities to lead. Many of the Judges were charismatic, though not all. One example would be Othniel. The Spirit enabled him to have a successful military campaign that resulted in 40 years of peace. Several others, such as Gideon, Jepthah, and Samson were classified as Charismatic warriors. They received military prowess by the Holy Spirit. Which enabled them to free their people from the oppression the suffered from.

    ✓ With the period of the Monarchy. After Saul was anointed first king of Israel by Samuel, the Spirit came upon him. Saul then prophesied with a group of prophets (1Sa 10:1-10). Then we see the spirit coming on Saul when he responds to the threat of Nahash. The Spirit enables him to be able to protect Jabesh-Gilead. (1Sa 11:6; 19:23). Then we see the Spirit coming upon the messengers of Saul after he sent them to bring David to him to be killed. They also started to prophesy (1Sa 19:20). Now we come to the anointing of David as king. The bible says that the Spirit was on him from that day forward (1Sa 16:13).

    ✓ In the period of Elijah and Elisha Gods Spirit also moved. Such as at the end of Elijah’s life the Spirit of the Lord takes him to heaven in a chariot of fire that flew like a whirlwind (1Ki 18:12). When Elisha asked Elijah to receive a double portion of the Spirit, Elijah tells him he has to meet certain criteria, like watch him go into heaven, which he does (2Ki 2:9;15).

    Jesus Christ the anointed Messiah;

    Thou lovest righteousness and hatest wickedness; therefore, God, thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows [Psalm45:7].

    The above describes the name and the character of Christ (the Messiah). All His life and ministry, He hated lawlessness and anarchy, but loved righteousness; for His reward for such an exuberant righteousness or holiness lifestyle, God, even God the Father made Him the Messiah (which is a name above all names) and anointed Him with the oil of gladness above all His followers. The oil of gladness that was used to anoint Him, also signifies His exclusion and an end from all sorrows, mourning and death. Many will say, but He died…. Christ’s death on the cross, was not a sorrowful one but a victorious end on earth and a triumphant season in Heaven. The is basically knowing the supernatural presence of God upon us. It is also the aware of His presence with us. With experience, it can be described physically as would describe it as the feeling of warm presence and glow of God upon our body. God uses it to send us signals that the Lord’s presence is with us, and that He approves of what we are doing. With the anointing of God, we receive power and authority into the spiritual realms of God. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion……………….over every living thing that moveth upon the earth [Gen.1:28]. So to understand the anointing, it was part of man from the beginning of creation, but unfortunately lost the power to Satan, the devil through the fall. Because of the power it carries, the devil did everything he would to take-away that gift from man. That’s why, even, as a Christian without the anointing upon you, you feel heavily burdened and lack of desire for God and spiritual things. The anointing is for works, and works comes with fruitfulness, and fruitfulness comes with replenishment and replenishment dominion and with dominion total victory and control over all things. Without the anointing, a believer just become a follower without aim (unfruitfulness or bareness); because fruitfulness is a special blessing from God. As Christians and children of God, we need power to subdue this gift and the things around us from the devil and his other demons.

    the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek…….that they might be called the trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified [Isa.61:1-3]. So Jesus Christ manifested heavily under the anointing, no wonder He was able to perform without any mistake. Because all such responsibilities could never have been done, without the help of the Holy spirit called the Anointing. He ministered with the Power of God and the Power of the Holy spirit to subdue the works He has been called to do, from the devil and his oppressive means. We can consider, the great Power of the anointing by knowing the reasons why Christ was anointed;

    • To preach good tidings to the meek

    • To bind-up the broken hearted- those deeply hurt, distressed and in trouble in all kinds.

    • To proclaim liberty to the captives

    • Open the prison to them that are bound

    • To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord

    • To proclaim the day of vengeance of the Lord

    • To comfort and give oil of joy for all that mourns

    • To appoint unto them that mourn and offer them beauty for ashes.

    Hence, the anointing is simply God with us. Because without it, how can one perform such wonders and initiate such works, whereby the devil attacks are unabated. In Acts 10:38, the Apostle Paul recalls how the Messiah was consecrated by God, under the power of the Holy Spirit called the anointing. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.. So the Holy Spirit came down from Heaven upon Jesus Christ in all fullness and without measure [Mat.3:16] [John3:34].

    Characterizing authority of the anointing;

    Authority and liberty is the real essence of the Gospel. God did not give any laws commanding slavery, but he did provide a few regulating it as a custom tolerated by Him and practiced collectively by men. It simply means, that, if men were determined to have slaves during their ignorance of the gospel and the truth, then God will want us to properly treated as children(serving Him) and not as ill-treated slaves. He therefore, made laws governing and proclaiming liberty to all through-out the earth. If Christianity will be followed wholly, there will be no oppressed people on earth, for hence, every man would be consecrated to doing well to all. Jesus Christ was anointed to bring liberty to the captives, to clearly show to mankind, how the Lord God dislikes abuse like,

    • enslavement of men

    • ignorance and oppression of men

    • forcing people against their free will

    • depriving people from their rent

    • preventing people from proper home life

    • preventing children from proper training and growth

    • fetter the intellect

    • crushed and shattered in life

    • brokenness in the body, soul and mind

    • promotion of any inequalities, and other behaviors contrary to scriptural laws of God.

    All the above are purposefully, the works of the devil used to keep the children of God into bondage and total sins against the functions of the body and soul.

    Hidden customs of the Anointing

    "But the anointing of which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teaches you; but as the same anointing teacheth you all things you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath
