SAMVEDANA
Proper and efficient communication can make wonders. Improper and ineffective communication on the other hand, can lead to blunders. Now will you end up making wonders or blunders, is left for your robot to decide. Proper communication via signals being the key, this event expects the participants to make a robot, which can communicate with the central unit, take commands and move in the directions signaled by the central unit, which will reciprocate to the signals sent by your robot to this unit. A very challenging yet innovative, this event is an attempt to step out of the conventional events and take a step ahead into future robotics. All the experts who have excelled themselves in signal processing and robotics will find their right competition in this event, SAMVEDANA.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Design a wired control Robot along with a RF Transmitter circuit. The Transmitter circuit is not to control the Robot but to send a signal to the Universal RF Receiver (present at the arena), whenever the Robot encounters a Junction.
ROBOT SPECIFICATIONS:
The robot should fit inside a box of 30cm 30cm 30cm. The robot is to be wired controlled using switches. The robot should be self powered with supply not exceeding 12V (on board power supply). Power supply should be on board. Participants cannot draw power from outside. There is no weight limit for this robot. A tolerance of 5% is allowed in the dimensions and power supply. The Radio Frequency Transmitter should positively have the following specifications: A-434 Transmitter HT 12E Encoder Note: It is suggested to have a Dip Switch at the Encoder to change the address bits from time to time. The Decoder address bits would be revealed at the venue before the start of the event.
Game Play:
The Robot starts at Point A. The Robot is a wired Robot controlled using Switches. The Participant should drive his Robot straight initially until it encounters a Junction. There are 7 Junctions across the Arena. At the Junctions, there are LCD/LED displays set up which indicate the direction. 1|Page

In order to make these LCD/LED displays indicate directions, the participant should make use of the RF Transmitter he has got. The RF Transmitter needs to send a signal to the Universal Receiver installed at the arena. The signal (ideally 5V) should be sent wirelessly from the Transmitter to the Receiver. Once the Universal Receiver receives a signal, LCD/LED display displays a random direction. Once the direction is got, the participant drives his Robot accordingly. The same procedure is followed at all the junctions. The Robot needs to reach the Stop point (B/C/D/E/Y/Z) in order to complete the arena. The directions can be left or right or straight accordingly. S is the Universal Receiver present at the arena.

Note: The RF Transmitter present with the participant is to send a signal to S and has nothing to do with
the Robot.
Qualification: Qualification is strictly based on the number of Junctions crossed by the Robot.

11. A robot with the base of a toy car and its gear box as a machine part will be disqualified. Also, Lego kits are strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification. 12. Participants with wired robots are strictly advised to get wires of length 3m or more. 13. Strict Measures would we taken by the Event Coordinators to avoid Interference of RF signals.
NOTE: The Winners will be given Certificate of Merit. The Participation Certificate would be given to those participants who are able to cross the specified Cut-off Criteria. NOTE: WE REQUEST THE PARTICIPANTS NOT TO ASSUME ANYTHING WITHOUT CONTACTING US. In case of any discrepancies, the decision of the coordinator and the event head shall be the final and no further arguments shall be entertained. ***THANK YOU***
