China Depth, Global Breadth is more than a motto at CEIBS, it is our raison dtre. It involves studying business cases from China and across the globe. It is reflected in our world-class faculty from 17 countries in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. #1 MBA Programme in China

Forbes China & Businessweek China

I applied to several Top-10 U.S. schools and to CEIBS. With three attractive offers in hand, my decision was not difficult I chose CEIBS. CEIBS curriculum is on par with any of any of the top-ranked schools overseas. An MBA from China is the right choice because the career opportunities are here, the future is here, so why go abroad? With the most extensive alumni network on the Mainland and an unbeatable reputation, CEIBS makes a compelling reason for staying in China.

Luo Siming - China, MBA 2011

I applied to several of the leading business schools in Asia but then realized that CEIBS was my logical choice. There is no better venue to learn Asian business than the place where most of the business is happening these days the Chinese Mainland. And there is no better place in China to study business than in the countrys leading business school CEIBS.

By far the highlight of my MBA journeyalong with my outstanding team, The Decarbonators, we embarked on a project that literally took us to places we never imagined we would go to. What started as a plan to introduce new green initiatives into the school, ended up as a 50-page detailed business plan that took us into the outer reaches of Inner Mongolia, with the aim of making CEIBS, Asias first carbon neutral campus. The project taught me that an MBA is more than textbooks and lectures, and that the CEIBS programme provides an amazing opportunity to test ones leadership skills and resilience.

Mentoring Programme
The optional CEIBS Mentoring Programme teams two or three MBA students with an experienced alumni or EMBA student mentor. It is designed to assist MBA students to obtain knowledge and skills that are not necessarily accessible in the classroom, and to prepare them to effectively re-enter the job market after graduation.

Summer Internship
The hot months of summer are designed for you to take a break from your studies, and embark on a 10-week long internship with a company of your choosing. The internship is an excellent opportunity to apply some of the new skills you have learned in the first year, as well as the perfect time to familiarise yourself with new industries and functions. An increasing number of student interns later receive a full-time employment offer from their summer employer making the internship an outstanding platform for both sides to get to know each other.

The Mentoring Programme was ideal in helping me focus on what I want to do after I graduate. I was assigned a CEIBS alumnus named Jacqueline, who graduated from the school ten years earlier, and was now on her own successful career path. After several meetings, she provided me with the tools necessary to understand my strengths and weaknesses, as well my comparative advantage in the marketplace. Her advice was invaluable in choosing my summer internship and planning my next career steps.

Faculty with distinction

No. 14 worldwide in international diversity of faculty - Financial TImes
With about a third of our faculty coming from the U.S, a third from China, and a third from Europe and the rest of the world, you are guaranteed to receive an exceptionally diverse and enriching class experience with no single cultural viewpoint dominating the discussions. Our professors are selected from the worlds most distinguished universities with an emphasis on their research, teaching abilities, and dynamism. As most of our professors live and work in China, consulting for local and multinational companies, the coursework will always revolve around contemporary and relevant business issues with a China focus. CEIBS has a vision to become the research and business case centre of Asia. Each year, CEIBS professors publish numerous China related business cases, and contribute to scholarly journals and publications in various fields. CEIBS has an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit that infuses its MBA programme design - notably by encouraging bottom-up curriculum innovation. Faculty and students share skills and knowledge to create new solutions to business challenges, not only through classroom sessions, but also through high-stretch project programmes that offer a fantastic breadth of choice across business sectors and civil society in China. We encourage an atmosphere of high energy, high motivation and high engagement on a strong academic, pragmatic and innovative platform to enable students to flourish.

I never expected my professors to be so world-class. Far different from the traditional way of teaching in many Chinese universities, the CEIBS classroom is highly interactive. Professors give a clear framework for each course and pass along their years of expertise in a way that is easy to understand yet without giving us an obvious answer. Case studies are used in most of our classes, and the heated discussions that develop as a result are always my favourite part. Professor of Management Practice Ph. D, University of Kent

Interaction with my peers is definitely one of the highlights of the MBA experience at CEIBS. I was born in China, but also consider myself part Kiwi, having spent a good chunk of my life in New Zealand. Not surprisingly, coming to CEIBS I quickly felt at home, as many of my fellow students and friends in the programme also come from mixed backgrounds and share a global outlook. The fact that we work so many hours together and share so many experiences, inevitably leads to some invaluable friendships along the way many of which I am confident will last a lifetime

INNOVATEChina
Founded in 2008, INNOVATEChina draws global attention to the challenges and threats of the China market. Competing teams generate innovative ideas and solutions to real world challenges of Chinas emerging economy. Innovation is a word many foreign observers would not associate with China. Yet the INNOVATEChina Competition gave me a unique opportunity to live first-hand the innovation revolution currently happening here. During the competition, my team was given a real case from a Chinese multinational in the transportation industry and asked to present our solution for improving their customised transport vehicle production line. I learned a huge amount about what it takes to lead a process of innovation and change.

True leadership is not just managing, but making a difference

Being a true leader means leaving a mark, having an impact on where you have served, and successfully collaborating with your team. CEIBS offers various activities and programmes beyond the classroom that allow you to live the MBA and China experience to the fullest, and to test your leadership skills outside of the classroom.

Aiming to encourage an awareness of the beautiful things in life in China, I have been running Little Thing Magazine for nearly four years. It is a bi-monthly fashion magazine with a focus on the creativity and lifestyle for the new generation of young women. As co-founder of the publication, I manage everything from advertising, circulation and branding, to finance and HR. Before doing my MBA at CEIBS, I had actually spent ten years working for multi-national companies in various marketing roles. After completing my MBA, I received strong support from CEIBS alumni in the media industry and from contacts I made at the Angel Investor forums at the school. This helped to make up my mind to chase my dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

Jason Ren - China, MBA 2004

There is a wide recognition that leaders for all organisations must possess an entrepreneurial mindset. The entrepreneurial mind focuses on opportunity and is vital to generating sustainable long term growth. CEIBS has made Entrepreneurial Management a required MBA course so that all CEIBS graduates know how to create value through growth.

On my MBA application for CEIBS I wrote that I intended to start my own venture in China after graduation and that is exactly what I did. CEIBS is also an ideal launching ground for a global career. Last year, 30 CEIBS students were selected for exclusive LDP (Leadeship Development Programmes) tracks with prestigious multinationals.

Career opportunities in the worlds fastest growing economy

Many of our students say that a clear advantage of being in China to pursue a career is the opportunity for rapid advancement. Because of the countrys rapid growth and business expansion, managers quickly find that their responsibilities and titles expand more quickly than they would have imagined or experienced in more developed markets. This makes China an ideal place for those students who are thinking of switching their career to a new function or industry.

I joined Intels Accelerated Leadership Programme right after graduating from CEIBS because it offers a unique platform for MBAs to fast forward their careers, providing crucial training and the preparation necessary to become future business leaders. The programme focuses on three major rotational assignments over two years with Intels multi-national business units and strategic planning functions, and recruits approximately 20 MBAs annually from around the world. I was the only student admitted to this years programme from China, clearly demonstrating Intels appreciation for the CEIBS education, and for our schools graduates.

Sissy Chen - China, MBA 2010

Working in China, I was undoubtedly able to progress in my career much quicker than if I would have stayed in the U.S. Doing my MBA at CEIBS more than a decade ago enabled me to undergo a significant career switch from journalism into the fascinating world of Private Equity in China. Today, I work as Director of Research at Prax Capital, Shanghai. The P/E sector here is still new which makes it all that more exciting a portfolio company back home with 20% growth would stand out, while in China that is slow going!

Tyrrell Levine - USA, MBA 2003

Before CEIBS I worked as Business Analyst for a leading global consulting firm. I was interested in making a shift in my career, and I wanted to experience first-hand Chinas amazing growth. The CEIBS MBA helped me do exactly that. After graduation I accepted an offer by Tencent, Inc., Chinas largest and most used Internet service portal, as a team manager in its Seoul branch. My job is to develop strategies for Tencents online gaming products for the Korean market. Honestly, I cant think of anything more thrilling than working in one of the most dynamic industries, for a company whose base is the worlds most dynamic market.

Studying at CEIBS is by far the best thing I have done for my career. After doing my summer internship at Ping An Capital, I decided to open my own company called GZ Capital based out of Shanghai and Tel-Aviv. My company acts as a bridge between Chinese and Asian funds who invest in Israeli technology. The CEIBS alumni network has opened many doors for GZ and enabled me to reach out to many important people and organizations. These contacts are the bread and butter of my business.

Ever since graduating from CEIBS and leaving Shanghai, I have felt that the alumni community provided me with a constant link to China. Every time I am back, I make sure to meet up with classmates and friends to keep up to date with what is going on. We have also launched the UK alumni chapter (where I work) last year and I participated in a number of events with faculty, ensuring that we stay up to date on the latest research at CEIBS.
