2012 HIGHLIGHTS

Membership nearly stable at 229. 16 deaths and one move offset by 15 new members, all involved in church projects. Rossmoor Friends of Grace events bring newcomers. Revitalized Caring Callers: 8 volunteers made 422 visits and 120 calls to shut-ins. Increased Mission Giving to over $50,000 14% of the budget. Facilities upgrades: landscape improvements, Fireside Room renovation, Oak Room doors. Popular Concert Series attracts visitors. Six different adult study courses and ongoing discussions offered. Outreach studied and practiced! Recognition of all volunteers and donors at the Harvest Dinner. Courage, creativity, commitment and hope abound.

December Sing-Along to benefit Habitat for Humanity

Focus on vibrant, Passionate Worship. Celebration of Charie Reids ministry and retirement. Party on Saturday, March 16th. Charie will preach on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, her last day as Pastor at Grace. Focus on Radical Hospitality. Four new Rossmoor Friends of Grace events. Continuing Concert Series. Focus on more personal follow-up with all visitors. New adult studies in the spring. Oak Room improvement projects. Visiting preachers. Continuing dedication to mission. Closeness, compassion, friendship and hope continue.

Treasurers Report
STATEMENT OF THE GENERAL FUND FOR 2012 Grace Church budgeted $400,804 for its General Fund in 2012. Total income for the budget program came to $393,389 and total expenses for the year were $394,420 leading to a $1,032 decrease in the bank balance. In addition, Grace Church handled $176,696 in receipts and $157,950 in expenses for special accounts and activities during the year, and held $124,233 in the bank accounts for these items at the end of 2012 (not including $32,392 in funds pledged for the year 2013.) The year 2012 was again a significant year for Grace Churchs investment holdings. At the start of the year, the Churchs holdings included the Gemmer-Schwab Asset Management Fund valued at $720,694 and $437,821 held in funds invested with the United Presbyterian Foundation (UPC). During the year another $12,500 was placed in the Gemmer Fund to benefit the music program of the church. Upon recommendation by EBIC (Endowments, Bequests, and Investments Committee), it was decided to withdraw $20,000 from the Gemmer Fund during the year 2012, which along with $9,172 in earnings distributed from UPC, provided investment income for church purposes. At the end of the year 2012 the value of the Gemmer Fund was $775,750 and the UPC investments were $487,437, in total $1,263,188. This was an increase of $104,673 during the year. Publishing the Generosity Journal


Reta Wilcox is the Writer and Editor of The Generosity Journal. Reta is an Elder and chairs the
Discipleship Department. She is also chair of the Strategic Stewardship Advisory Committee, and a member of the Endowment, Bequests and Investments Committee. In the community, Reta serves on the Board of Directors and coordinates fund raising for The Rossmoor Fund. In her professional career, Reta was a fund development and management consultant and a regional CEO for Girl Scouts of the USA. Reta was a certified Fund Raising Executive, and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

Linda Neyer provides the facts and figures for The Generosity Journal and analyzes the data. Linda

has managed the computerization of the churchs financial and membership records and serves as the churchs Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Financial Secretary. She has been an Elder, and consults with the Endowment, Bequests, and Investments Committee. In her professional career, Linda most recently served as VP Finance and Corporate Controller of Juniper Networks. Linda has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Judy Williams is the graphic designer and production manager for The Generosity Journal, and the

Office Manager for Grace Church. In addition to her regular publications, facilities rental and other responsibilities, Judy designs and manages the church website and creates the Constant Contact marketing messages. Judy has 20 years experience in the graphics industry and a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University and continuing graphic design education at San Jose State University.
