SIA Approved Qualification CCTV Level 2


A PSS CCTV licence is required if a security operative uses CCTV equipment that is either deployed into fixed positions or has PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) capability and they are required to do any of the following: Proactively monitor the activities of the public, whether they are in public areas or on private property

Use CCTV cameras to focus on the activities of particular people either by controlling or directing cameras at an individuals activities Use CCTV cameras to look out for particular individuals Use recorded CCTV images to identify individuals or to investigate their activities.

Why Our Course?


The head trainer, Eden, has had 12 years of experience working in the police force. For 4 years of this, he was responsible for training over 200 police officer recruits. Eden has also been awarded the Queens Golden Jubilee Police Medal for outstanding service to her Majesty. The law plays a huge part of CCTV, regarding data protection for example, and who better to train you than somebody who has trained the police.

Obtaining your CCTV SIA licence


Qualification and Awarding Body
This course and qualification is recognised by the SIA (Security Industry Authority) and is accredited through HABC. On successful completion of this course you will have achieved the Level 2 Award in Door Supervision. Once you have passed the examinations you can proceed with the process of applying for your SIA licence.

How do I get an SIA application form?


Simply phone the SIA on 0844 892 1025 to request one, or go to th e SIA Website where you can either submit a request form or register for their e-Fill system. This allows you to complete the application on-line and then print it on your own printer. Alternatively the SIA will print it and send it to you by post. You can apply for your SIA licence as soon as we have given you confirmation of passing the exams. You do not need your certificates to apply for your SIA licence.

How old do I have to be to do the SIA course/get an SIA licence?


There is no upper or lower age limit on taking the course. To be able to apply for your SIA licence you must be at least 18 years old.

What if I've got a criminal conviction?


Depending on the severity of the offence and time spent since the offence was committed will determine whether you are eligible to be granted an SIA licence. Visit the Criminal Record Indicator on the SIA website if you are unsure.

How long does it take to get the licence?


Providing the application form has been submitted without mistakes and is fully complete (including the correct identification documents) the SIA undertake to process it within 25 working days.

I havent lived in the UK for long. Is this going to affect my SIA application?
When completing the SIA application form you need to provide your address history for the past 5 years (including overseas addresses). If you have spent six months or more overseas in the last five years, you must provide a criminality certificate from each country you lived in (with an approved translation if the certificate is not in English). Your licence application cannot be processed until a criminality certificate has been provided.

What is the cost of the licence?


The cost of the SIA licence is currently 220.00 however the SIA review this figure annually. There is a reduction of 50% in this fee for additional licences.

What ID do I need to bring with me?


To be able to commence the course you must be able to produce the following identification documents: You MUST have EITHER two identity documents from Group A NB - At least one document must show your current address and at least one document must show your date of birth. OR If you only have one identity document from Group A, you MUST have two documents from Group B NB - At least one document must show your current address and at least one document must show your date of birth.
