From which examination onwards New Syllabi starts? New Syllabi starts from June 2009 examination. Upto which Examination old syllabi continue? Till Dec 2010 examination. Will there be separate question papers for new and old syllabi? Yes. There will be separate Question papers for old as well as new syllabi till Dec 2010 examination. Thereafter Question papers will be as per new syllabi. What is the procedure to shift the syllabi from old to new one? Just fill up the exam form with new subject codes. What will happen to those students who had cleared some papers under the old syllabi? Students can continue the old syllabi till Dec 2010. If he/she will be unable to finish the course till then, it would be necessary for them to shift to the new syllabi. However, for those subjects that are common to both the syllabi, students need not appear in them again once they switch to the new syllabi. Which subjects have been deleted from the old syllabi for Electronics students? Engineering Graphics, Applied Mechanics and Numerical Analysis. What will happen to those students who have cleared the above three subjects under the old syllabi? They would gain nothing even if they had passed in the above three subjects. Will there be a new marking system? Yes. CGPA system. The Institution has decided to adopt grading system in place of absolute marks. The grading system will be reflected in the marksheets from June 2009 examination for both existing as well as new students. Once a student passes all papers and is not keen to appear for any improvements his final result will be declared. The final result will indicate the division/class as under :CGPA of 9 or more Distinction CGPA 6.5 or more but less than 9 First Division CGPA 5 or more but less than 6.5 Second Division Less than 5 FAIL (No award will be given) Is it true that number of Lab examinations have been increased? Yes. 4 Lab examinations have been introduced in place of present 2 lab examination in order to give a better practical knowledge.

Q. How effective your postal course is? A. Ours is a result oriented course, and is highly effective. We know that it works. The effectiveness of the course depends on whether you make use of the lessons and assignments. The degree of effectiveness would vary with factors beyond our control, such as the extent to which you make use of them - just as what happens when you go to university. But as far as we are concerned, we are absolutely convinced that this course is capable of helping you achieve extremely good marks provided you read it from first page to last page. Q. You know, generally a book covers syllabus of all the engineering colleges in India to augment the sale of the book. In other words, books are not focused according to AMIE/AMIETE Examinations. Can I get admission in M.E./M.Tech courses after completing AMIE/AMIETE?

Yes, after completing AMIE/AMIETE, you can apply for GATE entrance examination for getting admission in M.E./M.Tech courses in various universities/engineering colleges. Candidates will be required to appear in a single paper of three hours duration. The examination will be held on second Sunday of February from 0930 to 1230 hrs. The notification for GATE is generally published in October in leading newspapers. Getting good score in GATE opens gateway to higher education with attractive scholarship. GATE qualified candidates( in Engineering subjects) will also be eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories. After having a valid GATE score, an AMIE/AMIETE should apply for admission to postgraduate programmes in individual institutions, at appropriate time. Admissions of candidates to postgraduate programmes will be governed by the rules and regulations of individual institutions to which they apply.
