Gie's Adventure

EXT-PENGUIN ROOKERY - DAY Audience leaning over ledge, looking into penguin keep. General chatter from audience echoes through the keep. A small girl leaning over with her head hanging down, with her hair swaying down. Flower hair clip falls out of hair into keep. GIE (Looks at clip with joy. Looks at girl, to see she hasn't noticed. He waddles to grab the clip. Happy.) INT. GIE'S ROOM - DAY GIO walks back to hut, while looking adoringly at his new clip. View of all of GIE's treasure inside his hut, his shadow casting over it. GIE (Hears a noise, looks over his shoulder. ) View of parrots flying over and through rings in the air. Look of awe in GIE's face (close up) Parrot does a twirling fall through the ring, and back through it upwards. Close up on GIE noticing the crowd. Crowd clapping and cheering at parrots. Close up on GIE turning around back to hut, but still looking towards parrots. GIE (Walks into hut looking gloomy, adds new item to pile, picks up items and hugs them.)

shot) Pan view of GIE looking and penguin keep. Reassured no one is watching, GIE goes back to hugging his loved objects. INT. GIE'S ROOM - MOMENTS LATER Back view of GIE in costume, looking into compact mirror. Over shoulder view of compact, seeing GIE's reflection in compact mirror. Close up shot of compact showing the reflection The reflection changes into a parrot version of GIE, who then flies through the air. Over shoulder shot of GIE, you can see the door behind him, and DAD appearing around the corner. DAD (Looks into room to find GIE dressed up in all these found objects.) GIE (Can see DAD behind him in reflection of mirror) DAD (Looks and GIE with disapproval.) GIE (Turns to look at DAD, dropping his compact, with tears in eyes) DAD (Lowers head in shame and walks off scene.) GIE (Lowers head, his head piece fulls off. Tears in eyes.) EXT. PENGUIN ROOKERY - DAY GIE and his friends are sitting down on the rocks at the front of the rookery eating fish. GIE does not eat his fish. GIE (Sighs, looking depressed. Turns head slightly to look at pool)

A penguin slides down the slope, and dives into the water. GIE sits pondering, while other penguins are amused. GIE gets an idea. EXT. PENGUIN ROOKERY - MOMENTS LATER GIE walking to the front of the keep with signs in his hands, looking determined. He begins to place them down, and his 2 friends notice. (KAKARA and LINGI.) KAKARA and LINGI begin to also place signs, and they smile at GIE. GIE looks back at them, so thankful and happy. EXT. PENGUIN ROOKERY - MOMENTS LATER The ramp is built out of signs, all penguins except DAD stand in front of it. GIE is in his costume, with a skateboard under his flipper. GIE takes a deep breath, and prepares to take off on the skateboard, a small distance in front of the ramp. GIE begins to ride up the ramp, and into the air. GIE (Mid air, look of joy on his face, and awe.) GIE is flying into the parrot keep, and towards one of the parrot rings used by the parrots. The parrots near by are struck by shock and confusion. GIE spins through the ring on his skateboard, and lands in a pond in the keep. GIE raises to the surface to see his friends and the parrots cheering for him. GIE is overcome with happiness. See DAD over looking everything from the top of the keep. Close shot of DAD's face - he smiles and is proud. EXT. PENGUIN ROOKERY - LATER Audience is crowding round, leaning over, cheering, being wowed. The rookery now has a built ramp, and colourful lights. GIE is skate boarding on the ramp. GIE, in his new costume, skateboards up the ramp, and jumps towards camera with the biggest smile on his face.
