ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA Test Medium (Pneumatic & Associated Leak Tests) The test medium used for pneumatic test is clean air or inert gas. Note 1: Oxygen and other flammable or toxic gases are prohibited Note 2: Bottled air or inert gas come from an approved source and have certificates to attest to their purity and quality. Air Purity for compressor supplied air is verified by checking filter condition, oil and moisture content at supply source. Air is not used to test equipment or piping systems that have been in flammable service without approval of Loss Prevention Dept. Mgr. Bubble Solution (for Leak Testing) The bubble forming solution shall produce a film that does not break away from the area to be tested, and the bubbles formed shall not break rapidly due to air drying or low surface tension. Note: Household soap or detergent use is prohibited per ASME V, Article 10, Mandatory Appendix 1, Para. I-1032 a) Approved Bubble forming solutions are compatible for Test Conditions relative to Temperature Ratings & Chloride Content. Note: Data sheet for SNOOP (example of an approved solution) meets ASME V, Art 10, Mandatory App 1, Para. I-1032 b) & I-1071) See Sample Data Sheet in Attachment 1
