Problem: PS/HSDPA/HSUPA service drop ratio improved significantly after upgrade for pilot RNC (OGRNC10), from approx.

1.2% to approx. 0.6%. The main reduction in the number HSDPA and HSUPA drops are the subcounter PS.RF.ULSync (reduced approx. 75%) and SRB Reset (reduced approx. 25%). Analysis Progress 1. Parameter Checks RL Re-Establishment Switches. Switch OFF: RSVDBIT1_BIT22-1&RSVDBIT1_BIT23-1&RSVDBIT1_BIT24-1&RSVDBIT1_BIT25-1&RSVDBIT1_BIT261&RSVDBIT1_BIT27-1&RSVDBIT1_BIT28-1 CellSync related parameter has no changes: NINSYNCIND=3, NOUTSYNCIND=50, TRLFAILURE=50, RL Restore timer changed from 10 sec to 11 sec after upgrade.

2. After the upgrade, there is significant reduction in the number of RL Failures reported from Node B.

As there were no upgrades or other operations on the Node B during the period, suggesting that it is the improvement on the UM interface, causing reduction in number or RL Failures. 3. Mostly all the cells under OGRNC10 have improvements in PS drops. Below are the cells with the most reduction in number of PS drops.

4. Cell 52093 (from the previous table) as an example, the RTWP for the cells has improvements of approx. 3dB. Other cells in the list are observed to have 2 3dB improvements in RTWP.

5. By checking the number of users comparing the RTWP, there are no significant changes in the number of HS-users.

6. The PS UL throughput has no significant increased in these cells as well. (Slightly higher during peak hours)

Conclusion (So Far) Improvements in RTWP after upgrades brought improvements in the UL Synchronization failure and SRB reset after upgrade. Therefore, we observe improvement in PS call drop rate.

Next Step: Investigating RTWP related features and algorithm between SRAN3.0 and SRAN6.0.
