How can I block program Access to internet

I am using ESET Smart Security and i want to know that how can i block program access to internet with ESET Smart Security's personal firewall? Because i want to block access to internet of some programs with my firewall as i am using their patches for registration....... and when i connected to internet those programs are automatically detected that you are using fake Key etc.............. I want to get rid of all this........... and block those program's internet access with my firewall??? How can i do this........ Please help me in this regard..... Thanks in advance..... (NOTE)first of all you must anable your windows firewall. Go to your Start Menu,then click Control Panel (note: if you do not see Control Panel as an option in your start menu, look for Settings, then click Control Panel) , Now click Security Center in the window that appeared, Now click Windows Firewall, appearing beneath 'Manage security settings for' then click on The Exceptions tab, and make sure to uncheck all the program you want to block the access to internet. Just to add to this , whilst you are on The Exceptions tab you may not see the program just search for your program to block and allow it then after the firewall has picked it up "untick the box" That is only for windows firewall........!!! But I am using ESET Smart Security firewall and two or more firewalls running at the same time can conflict with each other!! when you use the eset smart security, go to: 1. Advance set up tree 2. make sure that your firewall is automatic mode with exceptions then: 3. go to rules and zones 4. click set up from the zone and rule editor 5. in rules, click new 6. click local then browse for the .exe file of the application you want to block. 7. write any name for the general info

8. click ok 9. click apply and then ok. that's all. the application is now blocked from accessing the internet when you use the eset smart security, go to: 1. You need to go to Advanced options then to Personal firewall and under Filtering mode choose "Automatic mode with exception". Then manually configure "Rules and zones".

How to Block Programs From Accessing the Internet With ESET Smart Security
ESET Smart Security is a full suite of security applications that protect your computer from malware and other threats. This suite contains a firewall that controls traffic to and from the Internet. This firewall with pop up a notification screen each time a program attempts to access the Internet. If you wish to block a program from accessing the Internet, you'll simply have to deny its request to connect. You can even opt to have the firewall remember your selection to permanently deny the program access.

Launch an application that you wish to deny access to the Internet. When it tries to connect, ESET will pop up a notification.

Click "Deny." ESET will stop the application from connecting to the Internet for the current instance of the application.

Shut down the program and start it again. This time, when the ESET Smart Security window pops up, click "Remember Action." Click "Deny" to permanently deny access to the Internet for this application.

Tips & Warnings


When you update an application, you're firewall will lose its saved information about it. You'll have to deny its access again. Some application must connect to the Internet to download important updates. Do not block an application unless you are sure you must.

Whitelist specific web sites with the ESET Smart Security Personal firewall
ESET Smart Security's Personal firewall provides the ability to create a specific list of approved (whitelisted) web sites that may be accessed on a computer. To configure the Personal firewall so that only approved web sites can be visited, please follow the steps below: Adding Approved Web sites 1. Open ESET Smart Security by clicking the icon in the Windows notification area or by clicking Start All Programs ESET ESET Smart Security. Toggle to Advanced mode by clicking Toggle Advanced mode in the lower left corner or by pressing CTRL + M on your keyboard. Click Setup Personal firewall and then click Switch to interactive filtering mode Configure rules and zones... from the main program window.

In the Zone and rule setup window, click Toggle detailed view of all rules and then click the New button to add a new rule.

Enter a name for the rule such as Approved Web sites. From the Direction: menu select Out and from the Action: menu select Allow. Do not click OK at this time.

Click the Remote tab and click Add port. In the Port selection window, click the Name: drop-down menu and select HTTP. Click OK to save the selection.

7. Click the Add IPv4 address button to enter the IP address for the site you wish to allow access to and click OK. Figure 1-4 below shows what the New rule window will look like after adding the HTTP port (Port: 80) and one IP address. The IP address shown below is only an example. When finished adding IP addresses, click OK to return to the Zone and rule setup window.

Block All Other Web sites 1. From the Zone and rule setup window, click the New button to add a new rule.

2. Enter a name for the rule such as Block Other Sites. From the Direction: menu select Out and from the Action: menu select Deny. Do not click OK at this time.

Click the Remote tab and click Add port. In the Port selection window, click the Name: drop-down menu and select HTTP, as well as any other ports you wish to block access to. Click OK to save the rule and then click OK again to close the Zone and rule setup window. NOTE: If you want to ensure that the user is never prompted with pop-up messages from the firewall, check the list of existing rules in the Zone and Rule setup window any rule that uses an action of Ask (orange arrow) must be changed to either Allow (green arrow) or Deny (red arrow). To do this, right-click the desired rule, click Edit and then change the value in the Action: drop-down menu. Also note that by skipping step 3 of the "Block All Other Web sites" section, you can block access to all ports. However, this may produce unexpected results if you have not specifically allowed every port the computer needs access to in step 6 of the "Adding Approved Web sites" section.
