1
Introduction
Your tanning unit is designed to the latest technical and safety standards.
However, there is a risk of danger if the unit is operated by people who have
not been instructed or trained in its use or if it is used in a way other than that
which was intended. Therefore all persons concerned with the assembly, start-
up, operation, maintenance and repair of the unit must first read and understand
the operating instructions and especially the safety instructions. It is imperative
that you and your staff are instructed by the technical adviser before the first
use of the unit. Should any technical problems occur with your equipment,

1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 Before start-up
The safety and operating instructions must be read and observed before
installation and start-up. It is essential to adhere strictly to the regulations specified
by uwe and the relevant standard authorities.
4
The unit may only be operated by persons who had been instructed how to
use it and informed of the potential risks. The relevant accident prevention
regulations as well as recognised technical and medical safety regulations
must be adhered to. Unauthorised modification of the equipment will exclude
the manufacturer’s liability for any consequential damage. This applies in
particular to damage resulting from the use of lamps or filters not authorised by
uwe.
NOTE All remarks in these operating instructions to make things easier to under-
stand are marked with the word Attention.
AIR JET
An air vent is proved in the canopy which allows cool air to be directed over
the upper part of the body.
HEADPHONES SOCKET
Headphones can be plugged into the 3.5 mm diameter socket, allowing you
to listen to the music provided centrally.
LOUDSPEAKERS (Optional)
The sunbed can be equipped with two loudspeakers on demand to listen to
music provided centrally while tanning.
FANS
The fans continue to run for about 6 minutes after the unit has been turned off
(factory setting).
BREAKSAFE
The transparent filter discs in front of the high pressure lamps in the canopy are
protected by a BREAKSAFE device. If one of the filter discs breaks, power is
switched off and the unit can only be restarted after the filter disc has been
replaced. The XTT filter discs on the three high pressure lamps must be checked
visually.

parts for wear.
2.2 Start
Please observe the timetable.
Do not exceed the tanning time recommended for your type of skin.
It is imperative to avoid sunburn.
Warning Never sunbathe if you are already sunburnt.
Your final tan depends on your type of skin and cannot be deepe-
ned using a sunbed; it can only be preserved.
Keep your eyes closed while sunbathing and always wear the pro-
tective goggles provided.
People who have had eye operations must wear protective gogg-
les.
Starting
1. Place a coin or chip in the coin-operated timer.
The unit automatically starts after the warming-up period, depending on

11 6 SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
1 2 3
Always first unplug the unit from the power supply!
Warning
The operator must ensure that the equipment only use when it is in perfect
working order.
Be sure that technical equipment is inspected and serviced regularly.
During repair or start-up additional measures need to be taken to prevent
unauthorised access to the safety enclosure.
Only authorised persons may work on the equipment, Contact your autho-
rised dealer or uwe Customer Service for further information.
Do not do anything which could impair the safety of the equipment.
Always purchase original spare parts from your authorised dealer or uwe.
No liability can be accepted if other lamps, tubes or starters are installed
4
other than those originally supplied.
Do not use the unit without the acrylic panels.
When working on the canopy, the large cover (11/1) can be supported by a
bracket (11/2), so that the cover doesn’t need to be completely remove.
Only pull out the bed for maintenance after you have released the acrylic
panel on the tanner side and laid it on to the bed top.
Before lifting up the large cover (11/1) of the canopy, first adjust the canopy
with the supporting strap (11/4) in the lowest position (unit closed). Otherwise
the cover may be damaged.
Attention:
12
The canopy is held up by a mechanical safety device.
2 3 5
6.1 Replacing acrylic panels
The acrylic panels are made of special material with high UV permeability.
Never use window glass or commercial perspex to replace them as they will
either completely or partially filter out the UV rays. Always purchase original
acrylic panels from your authorised dealer or equipment supplier. On delivery,
the acrylic panel is covered by a protective sheet on each side. Pull off these
sheets before inserting the panel in the sunbed. Do not use the unit without the
acrylic panels as adequate cooling of the lamps will then no longer be
1 guaranteed.
The acrylic panels of the canopy, side tanners and bed top are frosted on one
3 side (LIGHT GLASS).
1. When installing the acrylic panel ensure that the frosted side of the panel is
always towards the lamp.
2. Do not polish the frosted side of the acrylic panel with polishing paste.
14 Bed panel

3 possible.
4 The gas pressure spring (14/5) keeps the bed top with the corrugated acrylic
panel fixed down in the upright position. The corrugated acrylic panel now
rests on the bed and can be taken out.
5 6. Release both gas pressure springs at the bottom fixture (14/2).
These have to be released as otherwise the bed panel remains
under tension.
7. Put the bed panel on the bed.
13
15 Acrylic side tanner panel
2 1. Fold the interior control panel upwards(12/5).
The control panel snaps into place.

three screws 4 x 10 (15/5) screwed in from the bottom.
The acrylic side tanner panel cannot be removed from the rail.
Unit XXT
In front of each of the three high pressure lamps in the canopy there is an XTT
filter disc and a clear filter.
The high pressure lamps may only be operated with this special filter
configuration specific to the equipment. If filters are damaged or
missing, the unit may not be used under any circumstances. Danger
Warning of burning! Danger of permanent damage to the eyes! Depending
on the model, the face tanner will not switch on if restarted immedi-
ately or it will only switch on with reduced power as a cooling period
of about 4 minutes is required. To replace a high pressure lamp, ple-
ase contact the manufacturer or an authorised dealer. No liability
will be taken if tubes other than those originally supplied are used.
14
BREAKSAFE CAYENNE XTT
The transparent filter discs above the high pressure lamps in the canopy are
equipped with a BREAKSAFE device. If one of the filter discs breaks, the circuit
is interrupted and the unit will not work again until the filter disc has been replaced.
The XTT filter discs on the three high pressure lamps must be visually inspected.
Clean reflector
18 2 3 1. Wipe off the reflector (18/3) using a clean cloth moistened with alcohol.

5 The magnetic connection (25/4) tightens.
6.4 Replacing filter mats
28 The air for cooling the unit passes through micro filter mats at the unit inlet. Fluff,
hair, dust particles, etc. are filtered out so that components inside the unit like
lamps only have to be cleaned intermittently. After a longer period of time,
3 4 5 particles filtered out may clog the filters thus impairing the cooling of the unit.
Thus the filter mats have to be replaced from time to time to avoid an overheating
of the equipment. The replacement interval depends on the hours of use and
on the amount of dirt in the air.
Purchase original filter mats only from your authorised dealer or equip-
1
ment manufacturer.

72 9.4 Connecting the air extraction unit
Attention: IMPORTANT! The heated cooling air must be extracted
through a direct air outlet (central air extraction) from the air ex-
traction duct (72/1) of the unit. A pipe must therefore be attached to
Warning the air extraction adapter to take the exhaust air to the outside. uwe
recommends a special air extraction flue which can be order as an
accessory for this purpose. Further information on effective ventilati-
on is contained in the brochure „ Ventilation Tips“, available from
your authorised dealer or from us.
Attention, IMPORTANT! Please observe as otherwise there is danger
of overheating! If the exhaust air is led outside via a ventilation duct,
2 attention must be paid to ensure that there is little impedance to
flow within the duct as otherwise additional fan will be required. In
351
403 this case please contact a ventilation specialist. The air outflow is
approx. 2500 m3/h and thus a corresponding amount of fresh air
165
needs to be supplied to the cabin. Therefore fresh air inlets with an
uncovered diameter of at least 2500 cm2 must be provided in the
1 cubicle walls.
952
Ensure that the coin meter can be disconnected from the mains
(contact gap 3 mm) and that it is properly earthed.
Warning
29
9. Connect the cable connectors to the power supply, the main board and
the earth.
10. Remount the main door and the coin box.
11. Close the unit.
Information on operating and setting the unit is given in the
operating instructions of the coin operated timer. Please note that for safety
reasons the maximum tanning time for this type of unit is limited to 30 minutes.
If you purchase air conditioning at a later stage your existing unit will
need to be modified.
