INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This product must be installed by a professional bicycle mechanic. If this product is installed incorrectly it will not operate properly and will adversely affect the performance of the rear brake. A qualified bicycle retailer should inspect your bicycle at regular intervals. 1. Remove the Stem, Upper headset cup/bearing and Fork. 2. Place the Gyro lower cable stop on the headtube as shown. Press the upper headset cup through the lower cable stop and into the headtube. Please use the correct tool (headset cup press) when installing it to prevent cracking the headset cup. The lower cable stop is held in place by the upper headset bearing cup.

brake. A qualified bicycle retailer should inspect your bicycle at regular intervals. 1. Remove the Stem. 2. If you have frame mounted tabs, Place the Gyro bearing unit lower tabs. If you have removable tabs make sure those are installed, and place the Gyro unit on those tabs. 3. Re Install The Stem.

LOWER CABLE INSTALLATION 4. Thread the cable adjusting barrels into the lower cable stop from below. Tips of adjusting barrels should be flush with, or protruding slightly above the lower tabs. The adjusting barrels should be level. Attach cable ends (as shown in ASSEMBLED) to the lower bearing unit tabs. Route the long single cable back to your rear brake. You may shorten the housing if its too long. Determine the proper length or housing needed, slide the housing clear off the cable and cut to desired length. Do not cut the cable yet. 5. Pull the lower single cable tight and adjust the rear brake. Trim the excess cable at this time. When adjusting the brake, make sure the Gyro bearing unit is resting against the lower tabs as this will make adjustment easier. UPPER CABLE INSTALLATION 6. Attach the single portion of the upper Gyro cable to your rear brake lever. You will notice that one of the two cables (below the splitter) is longer than the other. Attach the longer of the two cables to the side of the Gyro that is OPPOSITE the rear brake lever, farther away. Thread the two upper cable adjusters into the upper tabs (or upper cable stop plate, see reverse side) at least half way so you can attach the cable ends in the upper slots of the Gyro bearing unit. Once the cable ends are in place, you must turn the cable adjusters counter clockwise to create tension in the cable and keep the cable ends in place. The Gyro is designed to operate your rear brake while turning the handlebars 360 degrees without tangling the brake cable. In order to accomplish this the Gyro employs several connections between the brake and brake lever. For the Gyro to work efficiently there must be proper tension in all of the cables and the barrel adjusters should be in the same position. ADJUSTING THE GYRO 7. Both lower cable adjusting barrels should be flush with the surface of the lower tabs and the Gyro bearing unit should be resting on the lower tabs. Your rear brake adjustment must be made with the Gyro in this position. If it was not done earlier, do so before continuing. 8. The Gyro bearing unit should be parallel to the upper and lower stops. If it is tilted, there is slack in one of the cables. Pull each cable end, one at a time, to see which has slack in the bearing unit. Remove the slack through the adjusting barrel. When even pull is achieved, tighten all locknuts on barrel adjusters. 9. To check for even pull, rotate the handlebar. If the bearing unit moves up and down as the upper and lower cables pass each other, repeat adjustment procedure above.

3. Slide the fork into the headtube. Place the Gyro Bearing unit on the lower stop. Install the headset and any spacers (5mm is recommended). If you dont have Gyro tabs on your stem you will also need the upper cable stop. This is installed bulged side facing up, like in the picture on the left. Install your stem.
