Fire Survival Cables - also known as CIRCUIT INTEGRITY CABLES

These cables are designed to sustain the high temperatures for a defined minimum period of time under direct fire. These cables are useful to maintain their integrity during the defined period of fire.

Fire resistance test: AS/NZS 3013: Electrical installations - Classification of the fire and mechanical performance of wiring system It defines performance criteria for a wiring system inclusive of all elements forming the part of that system i.e., cable joints, tap-offs, supports and fixings. Wiring systems ability to maintain circuit integrity to fire Wiring systems degree of mechanical protection

IEC 60331: Fire-resisting characteristics of electric cables Tests for electric cables under fire conditions - Circuit integrity - Part 2: Test method for fire with shock at a temperature of at least 830 C for cables of rated voltage up to and including 0.6/1.0 kV and with an overall diameter not exceeding 20 mm BS 6387: Specifications for performance requirements for cables required to maintain circuit integrity under fire conditions Specification for performance requirements for cables required to maintain circuit integrity under fire conditions BS 7846: Electric cables, 600/1000 V armoured fire-resistant cables having thermosetting insulation and low emission of smoke and corrosive gases when affected by fire Flame Propagation test IEC 60332: Test on electric cables under fire conditions Part 1: Test on a single vertical insulated wires or cable Part 2: Test on bunched wires or cable under fire condition

IEC 60332-1-3: Tests on electric cables under fire condition (Flame Retardant test) Tests on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions - Part 1-3: Test for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable - Procedure for determination of flaming droplets/particles Specifies a test procedure for assessment of falling flaming droplets/ particles when a single vertical electrical insulated conductor or cable, or optical fibre cable, is subjected to defined fire conditions IEC 60332-3-24: Flame Retardant test Tests on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions - Part 3-24: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables - Category C Specifies method of test for the assessment of vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables, electrical or optical, under defined conditions. The test is intended for type approval testing. The flame spread is measured as the extent of damage of the cable sample. This procedure may be used to demonstrate the cable's ability to limit flame spread.

IEC 60754-1: Acid & corrosive gases test Test on gases evolved during combustion of materials from cables - Part 1: Determination of the halogen acid gas content IEC 61034: Smoke density test Measurement of smoke density of cables burning under defined conditions - Part 1: Test apparatus ISO 834: Fire resistance tests
