The Prophet said: Take benefit of five before five: your youth before your oldage, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free-time beforeyour preoccupation, and your life before your death. [Hakim] The Prophet said: There are seven whom Allaah will shade in His Shade onthe Day when there is no shade except His Shade: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in theworship of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; twomen who love each other for Allaah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that; a man who iscalled by a woman of beauty and position [for illegal intercourse], but be says: 'I fear Allaah'; aman who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right handgives in charity; and a man who remembered Allaah in private and so his eyes shed tears. [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] Narrated Ibn 'Umar:Allah's Apostle said, "While three persons were traveling, they were overtaken by rain and theytook shelter in a cave in a mountain. A big rock fell from the mountain over the mouth of the caveand blocked it. They said to each other, "Think of such good (righteous) deeds which, you did for Allah's sake only, and invoke Allah by giving reference to those deeds so that Allah may relieveyou from your difficulty ..One of them said, 'O Allah! I had my parents who were very old and I had small children for whose sake I used to work as a shepherd. When I returned to them at night and milked (thesheep), I used to start giving the milk to my parents first before giving to my children. And oneday I went far away in search of a grazing place (for my sheep), and didn't return home till late atnight and found that my parents had slept. I milked (my livestock) as usual and brought the milk vessel and stood at their heads, and I disliked to wake them up from their sleep, and I alsodisliked to give the milk to my children before my parents though my children were crying (fromhunger) at my feet. So this state of mine and theirs continued till the day dawned. (O Allah!) If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure, then please let there be anopening through which we can see the sky.' ..... [Bukhari]

The companions of the Prophet were together one day in Makkah. They were still few in number.weak and oppressed. They said, "The Quraysh have not yet heard the Quran being recited openlyand loudly. Who is the man who could recite it for them?'"I shall recite it for them," volunteered Abdullah ibn Masud . "We are afraid for you," they said..."We only want someone who has a clan who would protect him from their evil . ""Let me," Abdullah ibn Masud insisted, "Allah shall protect me and keep me away from their evil." He then went out to the mosque until he reached Maqam Ibrahim (a few meters from theKabah). It was dawn and the Quraysh were sitting around the Kabah. Abdullah stopped at theMaqam and began to recite:"Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Ar-Rahman. Allama-l Quran. Khalaqal insan. Allamahul bayan...(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. The Merciful God. He has taught the Quran. He has created man and taught him the clear truth...)"He went on reciting. The Quraysh looked at him intently and some of them asked: "What is IbnUmm Abd saying?" "Damn him! He is reciting some of what Muhammad brought!" theyrealized. They went up to him and began beating his face as he continued reciting. When he went back tohis companions the blood was flowing from his face."This is what we feared for you," they said. "By God," replied Abdullah, "the enemies of God arenot more comfortable than I at this moment. If you wish, I shall go out tomorrow and do thesame." "You have done enough," they said. "You have made them hear what they dislike."Abdullah ibn Masood was 13 at the time of the Prophet's death!

Abdullah ibn Zubair was a young sahabi. Sahaba attested that no one can compete in 3 thingswith Abdullah ibn Zubair: 1) his worship 2) eloquence 3) bravery- Upon occasion sahaba brought their children to be blessed by the Prophet . Allof the children were shy. The first to step forward was Abdullah ibn Zubair, and the Prophet said, ' wa ibnu abeehi' [he is the son of his father]. His father was also brave, he was a man! Children today are scared of everything! - Upon occasion Umar ibn Khattab was walking. who is Umar? Umar is the one where if he were to walk down a path, shaitan would be afraid to go down that path! Children were playing andthey all scattered except Abdullah. Umar asked 'All your freinds have run away, why didn't yourun away?' Abdullah said ' I haven't done anything wrong that I should run away and the path isn'tnarrow that you can't get by.' Umar asked ' Who are you?' He said ' I am Abdullah the son of Zubair.'

- He had immense strength, you might regard this as disturbing, sick. The Prophet had some cupping done. The Prophet said 'dispose of this somewherenobody will find out.' When Abdullah came back if he disposed of it somewhere nobody will findit. He replied yes. He was asked 'what did you do with it?' Abdullah replied' I drank it so myImaan and my knowledge increases. So i have a portion of your body in my body. My body ismore befitting than the earth that it take your blood.' The Prophet said ' OAbdullah, glad tidings to you. For the body that has my bloody running through it, the fire of Hellcannot touch it.' Abdullah ibn Zubair was only 10 years old when the Prophet passed away!!!!
