Welcome READ: Hebrews 2:1. Hebrews 2:1 reminds the reader to put an anchor in the things that we have been taught concerning Christ and His churchthis should help to keep us from drifting in the midst of the current of culture. Opening Prayer Pray this evening, thanking God for your church. Think through the specific ways that you are blessed by your church and experiences with your church!

Family Time ASK: Who [in your group] grew up participating with a local church (youve been doing it all of your life)? If you didnt, when/how did you end up being a part of a local church? ASK: Why do you go to church (the corporate gathering)? What do you like about the corporate gathering? Kids Time What kinds of activities happen when the church (Gods people) come together? (Think about worship services and bible study classes that you go to). What are some of your favorite things to do with you church? Why do we do these kinds of things? Depending on the age-development level of the kids in your group, guide them through Hebrews 10:19-25 to find the activity of the church. You may choose to write key words or verses on strips of paper and have them find those phrases in the whole text. The goal is to help them see all of the benefits of going to church. Below are a few of the activities and benefits that the author of the letter to the Hebrews reveals for the church: *draw near to God [worship] (22) *confess/repent sins (22-23) *encourage each other (24-25) How can we encourage each other to love and good deeds? Before you dismiss, encourage your kids (or have them encourage each other) by kind words and praying for one another. Adult Time How does culture affect your attitude towards church gatherings? What are the many benefits of meeting together on a regular basis? What are the dangers of not meeting together on a regular basis? Do you feel like your time gathering with the church is well spent? What keeps you from a deeper experience? Do you feel as though you go to church more to receive or to give? Based on Hebrews 10:19-25, what should be your activity when you go to church? What could you do differently when you go to church that would honor God and bless the church body? Prayer Time Pray, committing yourselves to gathering with the church bodyask that God would make the very most of your experience as He teaches you HOW CHURCH WORKS!

Community Calendar Beach Clubs are for 3rd-6th graders and meet after school. Adults are needed 1 hour a week for 10 weeks to share the truth of scripture at Duff, Pope, Miller and Sherrod Elementary Schools.
