REPAIR OF STRUCTURAL CRACK

UPGRADING OF BLOCKS 619-629 BEDOK RESERVOIR ROAD METHOD STATEMENTS FOR STRUCTURAL CRACK REPAIR
A) Materials
1) Rust Inhibitor Lanko 760 Reinforcement Rust Inhibitor

Primer 2) Concrete bonding agent Lanko Latex 751 Bonding Agent 3) Cementitious mortar Lanko 280 Grout 4) R6 rebars (optional material shall be used only if existing rebars are extremently corroded or damaged) B) Tools 1) Electrical breaker (>2 kg) 2) Manual hammers or cold chisels 3) Portable electrical mixers 4) Spray guns or paint brush 5) Steel trowel C) Safety and Protection 1) Workers shall be equipped with mask, goggles and ear plugs. D)Sequence of Work 1) Mark out the area and remove the structural concrete cracks with depth not exceeding 40mm. Hacking should stopped in case of full penetration. 2) All surfaces must be cleaned to ensure good adhesion. 3) Remove rust from the exposed reinforcement bars with wire brush. Provide additional bars lapping if the crosssectional area of the reinforcement is reduced by more than 15%. 4) Treat all exposed reinforcement with 2 coats of anticorrosion rust inhibitor. Allow hour drying time between each coat. 5) Apply 1 coat of bonding agent to ensure good adhesion with the repair material. 6) Apply the polymer cementitious non-shrink grout to the affected area and allow 4 hours interval to next application.

7) Allow the patched area to cure at least 1 day and apply protective coat of anti carbonation paint to the repaired area.

A) Materials 1) Rust Inhibitor 2) Concrete bonding agent 3) Cementitious mortar 4) Protective coating 5) R6 rebars (optional material shall be used only if existing rebars are extremently corroded or damaged) B) Tools 1) Electrical breaker (>2 kg) 2) Manual hammers or cold chisels 3) Portable electrical mixers 4) Spray guns or paint brush 5) Steel trowel C) Safety and Protection 1) Workers shall be equipped with mask, goggles and ear plugs. D)Sequence of Work 1) Mark out the area and remove the spalling concrete with depth not exceeding 25mm. 2) Remove rust from the exposed reinforcement bars with wire brush. Provide additional bars lapping if the crosssectional area of the reinforcement is reduced by more than 15%. 3) Treat all exposed reinforcement with 2 coats of anticorrosion rust inhibitor. Allow hour drying time between each coat.

4) Apply 1 coat of bonding agent to ensure good adhesion with the repair material. 5) Apply polymer cementitious mortar in layer of not more than 20mm and allow 4 hours interval to next application. 6) Allow the patched area to cure at least 1 day and apply protective coat of anti carbonation paint to the repaired area.
