Overview of the Existing System

The existing system is a manual one. It maintains all the records in book. It is very slow and time consuming. So, I have decided to

computerize the manual system which is very less time consuming, accurate, and less error prone.The feature of this system is it is online system, user can assess all the information related to system through internet The system is developed in HTML, JavaScript, Active Server pages and Oracle 8.0. hyper text mark up language is used as a front end and Oracle as Back-end. As HTML and ASP provides better GUI and easy, fast and logical coding. we have used HTML as front-end. Oracle is considered as a powerful RDBMS so we used it as back end.The Online system is a very powerful and accurate one because it provides all the information required which are require to user through internet..The current system is user friendly. So, its easy to operate and is therefore capable of handling all the needs of the present day requirements. It has more advantages over existing system.

System Requirements Specification

The existing system generates seat reservation of bus manually, which is an extremely tedious job to do.The process of reservation is time consuming and users have to go every time to reserve the ticket at the booking counter. So this online system provider wants a online reservation. as well as the storing of information of all the passenger and information related to bus seat which would save a lot of time.Tourist bus agency Company requires online system, which produce online reservation of the passenger, makes store the related information into the specific file after updating the information.

This is the requirement document of the Bus reservation System for the Dept. ofComputer Science of V.P & R.P.T.P Science College. V.P &

R.P.T.P Science College ispartof Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University. V.P & R.P.T.P Science College runs undergraduatecourses like B.Sc. and BCA.I am the students of the BCA course. It is self-finance course.We are the students of TYBCA class. I have given knowledge of subjects like c, c++, oracle,software engineering and MIS, which are useful to us.I learned the database maintaining and design, coding knowledge that was necessary for the project generation. I have subject for the project generation. I have to prepare an in-house project in the college. I am given right to choose our own project. I am given the liberty to either do the group project or the single project. My project is Bus online reservation System. I have chosen this project as, it is interesting and I find it full of knowledge and good. For developing the system I have used Oracle as our back-end tool and HTMLas front-end tool because it is friendlier and has good GUI interface.I have made the system as it reduce the manual work and provides more easily for retrieval records of particulars through internet. So, I have decided to make a online computerize system. My system has tried to update mostly all the data and forms automatically. My system is user friendly and easy to use and maintain.

Introduction
The Current System is powerful and it consists of all types of information required for Passenger and related to bus seat availability in the specific date.So this system is more powerful than the existing manual system. The current system is user friendly. So, its easy to operate. Therefore the Current System is capable of handling all needs of the present scenario. It has more advantages over existing system.

Objectives of the proposed system: Reduce the manual work. All the operations will be conducted through online by using internet services Carry information storage & retrieval. To perform the task of bus seat reservation efficiently & effectively.To generate and update the various types of file and perform the reservation.Main features of the proposed system: -Menu Driven

Scope For The Proposed System The Current System is powerful and it consists of all types of information required for reservation. I have tried to make almost all the reports computerized .I have generated the computerized reports for the bill.So this system is more powerful than the existing system. The current system is user friendly.So, its easy to operate. Therefore the Current System is capable of handling all needs of the billing facilities of the hotel in which it will be run. It has more advantages over existing system. Analysis of the Proposed System I have done requirement analysis for this system from Amin travel agency which is inVidyanagar. The person in charge gave me all the details about the working of the tourist bus and their requirement for the online bus reservation system. He told me about their types of delivery and respective charges for them
