NOTICE OF RACE
The organizing authority is the Singapore Disability Sports
Council in conjunction with the Singapore Sailing Federation
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the ’rules’ as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing.
1.3 The following additional documents are ’rules’ as defined in NoR 1.1 above.
1.4.1 SKUD-18 Class Rules shall be in effect, except C2.1(d) and C3.2(e) shall not apply.
1.5 If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence.
2. ADVERTISING
3.3 All skippers and crew shall be members of their ISAF Member National Authority.
The ISAF Member National Authority to which the skipper and crew belong shall be
an IFDS Recognized National Authority in good standing.
3.4 At least one member of a boat’s crew shall be a member of their National
Access Class Association or the International Access Class Association.
3.5 Entries on the official form shall be accompanied by payment in full and
received at the Organising Authority by 5pm (UTC+8hrs) Friday February 22,
2008
4. FEES
4.1 Basic Championship Entry Fee including lunches and dinners for three persons from
March 20-28 - $1,300 SGD
Additional Person Lunches & Dinners @ $200 SGD
OR
Comprehensive Championship Entry Fee including airport transfers,
accommodation, daily hotel-venue transport and all meals for three persons from
March 19-28 (10 Nights) - $7,300 SGD
Additional Person Transport, Accommodation & Breakfasts @ $2,000 SGD
Additional Person Lunches & Dinners @ $200 SGD

5.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the practice racing is 1300 hrs.
5.4 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race of each day is 1300 hrs.
6 MEASUREMENT
Every boat shall be measured. Sign up for measurement times will be available at
registration. Additional hull, sail, safety and equipment checks may be carried out at
any time during the event.
7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8 COURSES
9.1 Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and
one gybe, is required.
10 SCORING
10.1 The LOW Point scoring system, RRS Appendix A, will be used.
10.3 (a) When fewer than six (6) races have been completed, a boat’s score shall be
the total of her race scores.
(b) When from six (6) to nine (9) races have been completed, a boat’s series score
shall be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
(c) When ten (10) or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score shall
be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
11 SUPPORT BOATS
11.1 Support boats shall display their national letters (minimum size 200mm) in
accordance with Appendix G1.1 prominently on both sides of the outside of the
hull or the outboard motor casing.
11.2 The Sailing Instructions may contain restrictions on the activities of support
boats.
12 BERTHING
Boats shall be moored in their assigned places in the harbor or yard except when
racing or practicing.
13 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
SKUD18’s may not be hauled out during the regatta except with the permission of
the Race Committee.
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be
used around keel boats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end
of the regatta.
15 RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions, nor receive radio communications
not available to all boats, while racing. This restriction also applies to mobile
telephones.
16 PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Additional prizes may be awarded at
the discretion of the organizing authority.
17 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision
to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or
personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, or after the
regatta.
18 INSURANCE
19.1 This event is one of two (2) qualification events for the 2008 Paralympic Games
Two Person Keelboat Sailing Competition.
19.2 The qualification criteria for that event will be prescribed by the International
Association for Disabled Sailing.
