Abstract Preparation & Submission Guidelines for the International Equine Conference on Laminitis and Diseases of the Foot

November 1-3, 2013


We are encouraging submission of the newest scientific and practical information, pertaining to equine laminitis research, for inclusion in the program for this years Conference. The following criteria have been developed for submission of abstracts for inclusion as either a podium or poster presentation. Scientific Abstracts should be < 250 words not including the title, names and subheadings. All scientific abstracts must follow a structured format and include the following subheadings: Abstract Title Author(s) Name(s) & Institutional Affiliation(s) please underline the presenting author Clinical Application of the Research Introduction Materials & Methods (including Statistical Analyses) Results Discussion Conclusion Practical Abstracts should be < 250 words not including the title, names and subheadings. The practical abstracts should follow the above scientific format when appropriate; for review topics, the following abstract format should be used: Title Author(s) Name(s) & Institutional Affiliation(s) should underline the presenting authors name Introduction Discussion Conclusion References Please indicate which category for which your submittal is more suited: ____ Scientific ____ Practical Please indicate your 1st and 2nd preference for Podium or Poster Presentation: ____ Podium Presentation ____ Poster Presentation In addition, please designate your poster as one of the following topics: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentation depending on the authors preference. However, the conference committee reserves the right to assign the form of presentation to each abstract. If no format is specified by the authors, the abstract will be considered for poster presentation by default. Posters will only be displayed if the submitting author is present at the conference. If your abstract is chosen for a podium presentation the Conference will cover your registration fee. The registration fee covers all sessions, meals and evening entertainment. It remains the authors responsibility to preserve their right to publish in a refereed journal by contacting the respective journal to discuss their prior-publication criteria, so that an accepted abbreviated abstract will not jeopardize publication in the refereed journal. Abstracts should be submitted electronically as a Word document, no later than April 1, 2012 to Kate Shanaghan at info@laminitisconference.com. You will receive an email of confirmation upon receipt of the abstract. If you do not receive this, please contact Kate by e-mail and/or telephone (781-983-6681). You will receive notification, no later than May 15, 2013, as to whether your abstract has been accepted and in what form. Only abstracts that are submitted following the guidelines and format will be considered.
