1) In the beginning of the movie, Bruce was a power-hungry, shallow being who though of nothing but how he was

going to get further ahead in life. When he is denied a promotion he had being working hard for, he immediately places the fault of his misfortune on God and proceeded to be spout out many blasphemous insults. But after God called Bruce up, and put him in his shoes for 1 week, Bruce was a changed man. He began to see that it was not easy to be all powerful and he recognized the amount of unconditional love and care that God had for his children. Bruce learnt how to TRULY love not only his fellow neighbours and the less fortunate (seen in his treatment of the homeless man on the street at the end) but he also learnt how to love and appreciate Grace, the woman in his life. God responded to Bruces ignorance with an example, a mission to watch over the world. In going this God helped Bruce to grow as a person and also brought true love to his life. 2) Contrasting Bruces revelation with Moses on Mt. Sinai we see that there are a lot of similarities as well as a lot of differences. God responded to Moses by calling on him to perform a task for him. There was an outlines mission in which God wanted Moses to perform. He was to go and help him free his people from their imprisonment in Egypt. God said in (Exodus 3-6): "So shall you say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel. You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and [how] I bore you on eagles' wings, and I brought you to Me. And now, if you obey Me and keep My covenant, you shall be to Me a treasure out of all peoples, for Mine is the entire earth. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of princes and a holy nation." Both men expressed uncertainty in the presence of God, and with both, God used his wonder to call them into action. God also helped both men to grow as people and develop in love for others. 3) Although there is a lot of room for controversy in all things that focus on the religious aspect of life (especially when there is a comedic spin to the film), one must look past just the surface of what the movie is and the events that occur in the movie to see the deeper message in which it tries to covey. We see the power in which God has over his people (not its triviality) when we see how deeply God was able to affect the life and inclination of Bruce Nolad. But his majesty also goes a lot deeper to affect all of those who Bruce, as a result of his new outlook on life, will go on to affect. This movie shows how God is able to impact one life greatly, while still maintaining an individuals free will. 4) We see that with Bruces omnipotence that the world was thrown into chaos and destruction. By simply giving in to all the arbitrary desires of mankind, there was no balance and structure and in the end, no one was happy. Individuals won the lottery, but it was only 17 dollars, etc. When we contrast this to Gods omnipotence in our world today, we see how much better our world today is in his hands. Yes our world is imperfect, but these imperfections are a result of not Gods negligence, but the free will of mankind itself. 5) A good example in the movie of how humanity should respond to revelations was Grace. Even from the start of the film, Grace had always been the positive and compassionate one. When she witnessed Bruce being blasphemous, she was quick to stop him and caution him against such words. But Graces true nature was revealed after Bruce was awarded his powers. She was still kind, meek and humble

in the face of all that she was receiving. And even after Bruces revelation, she was quick to forgive, following God words through the course of the movie. 6) In the beginning of his mission, Bruce was not a prophet. He was selfish and refused to open his eyes to the call of God that he had been presented with. In order for one to be truly considered to be a prophet, they have to display the word of God in their life and make large movement towards bringing others to the love and kindness of God also. But we see in the end as Bruce shows God how he has grown and changed as a person, as he has realized the meaning of TRUE love. In this light, Bruce could be considered to be a prophet. He was kind and caring and brought the people together in positivity. He was being the man that God wanted him to be and answering his calling. 7) Bruce was able to recognise the faults in himself as he began to see how his method of handling the world was not as effective as he had initially thought it would be. Bruce was able to see that he was not as kind and compassionate as he had thought he was when he was using the powers that he had just obtained for his own personal gain. He also saw how selfish he had become when 6 days into his new found lifestyle, God had to come and remind him to also think of others. His lack of love was also highlighted in his relationship with Grace and he was able to see how he was letting the worldly recognition and his new-found material goods come inbetween a loving and caring relationship that he had always had, even before he was so powerful. By the end of the movie, we see that Bruce has recognized all his faults with the guidance of God and was able to go on to live a free life. In the end scene there is a new found calm and happiness seen in Bruce that goes to show how free he had become. He was no longer consumed with trying to further his position in his workplace, but instead he chose to be happy with what he had and was even able to propose to the woman of his dreams, Grace. 8) Hollywood would be able to portray a more authentic revelation by toning down all the comedic and flashy aspects seen in Bruce Almighty. They would have to focus more on the content and the individuals personal journey as they encountered their revelation. There would have to be less flash and less bizarre behaviours and instead the scenes be filled with true life, realistic scenarios that could be seen and applicable in our real world. God face would not be seen, for it was never revealed to any of his other prophets. There would be a more serious and solemn tone in the whole plot, one that would be more fitting for the nature of the changes that would be occurring in the main characters life.
