THE PHASES OF THE MOON


The Moon rotates on its axis and orbits the Earth. It takes 28 days to complete one orbit of the Earth. This is called lunar month. The moon looks different as it goes around the Earth. These changes are called the phases of the Moon. The Moon has four phases: new Moon, waxing Moon, full moon and waning Moon. - New Moon. The Moon is not illuminated.
