Math Lesson 8.5 Make Function Tables Page 328 9:15-10:15 Monday-Thursday 9:10-10:15 Friday SWBAT: use addition and subtraction to complete function tables TEKS 3.7(B) Materials: Textbook, paper, and pencil Procedures: The lesson will begin with playing What's My Rule. The teacher will think about a rule and the students will have to guess what rule she is thinking about. The first student to guess right will be next to come up with a rule. The teacher will use the helpful hints from the TEACH section. As a class, work through Examples 1-3. If students are having a hard time understanding uses the additional examples. Writing Writing a Research Report 12:45-1:25 Monday-Thursday SWBAT: write a biography 3.25A Write informative texts to introduce topic, use facts and definitions and provide conclusion. Materials: Biography to read to class. Examples of biography book or biography articles. Procedure: The teacher will read a biography to the class. She will then ask the class questions: What was the authors purpose for writing this story? The teacher will put a biography organizer on chart paper and ask the students about the book to fill it in. Assessment: Chart Paper Participation

Religion Chapter 20 -Lent pages 232-234 8:15-8:50 Monday-Thursday SWBAT: present the season of Lent as a time of preparation for Easter Materials: Religion textbook, Lent activity sheet Procedures: Have the students look at the We Gather questions. Ask for students to share how they prepare for family gathering or other events. Explain that in this lesson they will learn more about the season of Lent. Have the students partner read the pages 232-234. Ask what sacraments are especially important during Lent? Explain why they are important using bottom notes in TE. Have the students complete the Lent activity sheet.
