The teacher will think about a rule and the students will have to guess what rule she is thinking about. The first student to guess right will be next to come up with a rule. The teacher will use the helpful hints from the TEACH section. As a class, work through Examples 1-3. If students are having a hard time understanding uses the additional examples. Materials: Biography to read to class. Examples of biography book or biography articles. Procedure: The teacher will read a biography to the class. She will then ask the class questions: What was the authors purpose for writing this story? The teacher will put a biography organizer on chart paper and ask the students about the book to fill it in. Assessment: Chart Paper Participation
