PROJECT PROPOSAL The proposed project is carried out in partial fulfillment of the post graduate degree of Masters of Management

(M.Mgt) and is aimed to be completed in the duration of 6 months starting from January 2013. The project proposal comprises the following sections: 1. Problem Identification (including Literature Review, in brief) 2. Problem Definition 3. Research Design 4. Scope PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION Beginning with the exploratory efforts, the explorations in problem identification can take three main forms, Management/ engineering problem is posed to the researcher. An experienced researcher investigates an idea. A student is in initiated to research. The undergone explorations on this project can be categorized under the lattermost point and hence further idea on problem identification has come from following 2 main sources, viz, a.) The respective project guide (Prof. K.B.Akhilesh) posed a tentative problem i.e. domain of Change Management was tentatively posed by the guide followed by some interactive sessions where subsequent problem statement started to build, thereby approaching the uncertainty stage from the latent stage. b.) Brief literature review was embarked upon in order to identify the gaps in research. It was found out that the existing literature focuses on change initiatives, implementation of change, learning organizations, individual learning for organizational change. But to the best of knowledge, none has compared the traditional learning methods of change with the modern emerging methods of learning w.r.t. organizational change. PROBLEM DEFINITION The identified problem is converted into the certain propositions and the project is proposed to comprehend the following three objectives, Objective 1: Comparison between traditional learning methods and the so-referred modern emerging learning methods. Objective 2: To assess the emerging learning methods and their impact on sociability. Objective 3: To suggest measures on blending different methods.

Objective 1 includes the analysis of significance of change in organizations thereby appreciating the role of learning followed by the comparison as mentioned in the respective statement. Objective 2 is aimed to assess the emerging learning methods with respect to context, focus and environment followed by their impact on sociability, the latter taken as a measurement index. It is assumed that most work in the turbulent business environment is carried out in teams and groups and that individual excellence and brilliance may not get prerogative identification if stood alone. Objective 3 is aimed to cover suggestive measures on blending of different methods considering the need of an organization to innovate and transform its traditionally managed organization into learning organization in order to survive and prosper in todays rapidly changing business environment. RESEARCH DESIGN/ PROPOSED METHODOLOGY The proposed master plan specifying the methods and procedures for collecting and analyzing the needed information is looked upon from Whitneys 8 dimensions: 1. Objective- exploratory 2. Area of thinking- change management 3. Locus of location- library 4. Relationship sought- comparison, causal 5. Methods of gathering evidence- no primary data to be worked upon 6. Kind of data to be collected- secondary data(quantitative as well as qualitative) (source: external, syndicated services) 7. Procedure for data analysis: to be worked upon 8. Time dimension of study: cross- sectional (one-time study) SCOPE OF STUDY It is considered a truism that in todays environment, the survival of organizations depends on constant change. Organizations today face an unprecedented range of challenges and opportunities in the social, economic, political and business environment. In order to deal with change, it is more helpful to talk not in terms of change, nor of transitions, but in terms of learning. The undertaken project, if carried out successfully and sincerely, can provide a deep insight into the contexts of learning methods and their impact on individuals sociability which are the active fields of current research.
