Andrs Villagr is a pioneer when it comes to using technology in the classroom. It all started with his own blog, in Spanish, which students eagerly followed. Villagr soon introduced blogs into his students coursework, which they used to connect with other students, faculty, alumni, and professionals in the international community. To create an even more collaborative online experience, he created the Pace University Spanish Lounge using wiki technology. The students work has an immediate relevance outside the classroom. They have a sense of authorship and responsibility, explains Villagr. They dont write for the professor anymore; they write for a real audience. In 2010, Villagr was awarded the rst Dyson College Faculty Instructional Technology Award. Pace was one of my top choices because of its reputation and location. The financial aid package was much more than I could have hoped for! Before my college search, I thought I was destined for a state or community college. Without the help of financial aid, I would never have been able to attend Pace.
