2012
Submitted by: Farah Poonawala Student Id: Std_13792 Instructor: Amin Rajani Email: amin_rajani2000@yahoo.com

1. THE BACKGROUND OF THE SURVEY

1.1 INTRODUCTION
The major purpose of carrying on this small exercise was to grab an idea of the behavior prevailing within the organization between different levels of management and how satisfied are employees are with their higher management or immediate managers.

1.2 NEED FOR THE STUDY

The banking industry is a vast field and almost every second person you usually come across is a banker working at a high, middle or lower level position each having a different way of seeing and analyzing situations and creating their own image of their managers as well as their work environment The basic need of this survey was to get an inside sneak peak of the behavior prevailing in the organization.

1.3 OBJECTIVE OF THE SURVEY

The major objective of having a survey at my own workplace was to grab and gain an idea of how satisfied employees are with whatever they are doing. Whether or not they are happy with their immediate managers, are they considered a part of the organization they are working for, are they allowed making decisions at times

1.5 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

Banking is a fast moving field where diversification in different departments is very common. Each and every department has their own way of operating and making decisions. Each and every manager varies in his behavior and style of managing their day to day tasks. We cannot compare each persons thinking and attitudes towards their own employees.

1.6 HYPOTHESIS
Different organizations have different cultures prevailing in their organizations. In banks usually cultures vary from backgrounds, religion, castes etc. Banks have a disciplined and a routine way of conducting their day to day agenda in other words bankers have a monotonous routine. Similarly managers in the same bank but different departments have different leadership behaviors the culture determines the type of leadership, communication, and group dynamics within the organization. The workers perceive this as the quality of work life which directs their degree of motivation. The final outcomes are performance, individual satisfaction, and personal growth and development. All these elements combine to build the model or framework that the organization operates from.

Null Hypothesis: The behavioral in a Multinational Bank is Custodial Alternate Hypothesis: the behavior in a multinational bank is Autocratic, Supportive or Collegial

2. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

2.1 LOCAL STUDIES
As such no local studies have been conducted since an organization is not just a shop or a mini mart its a complete institution where different people from different backgrounds join together for the betterment of the organization. It is highly impossible for an organization to carry on its business with only one chosen behavior because nothing is permanent Times change People change and along with these Behaviors and attitudes change as well.

2.2 RESEARCH METADOLOGY

The research method used will be a questionnaire consisting of 24 random questions that will be distributed among my fellow colleagues which includes people working in my department as well as other departments as well. Whatever score an individual gives to a particular question will be assessed with other answers. The basic objective of the entire activity is to get an idea of the behavioral model prevailing in the organization. The analysis will be done using MS EXCEL to transfer the raw data in a presentable form.

2.3 METHOD OF RESEARCH

The research method used is categorized under two heads Primary research-collection of data Secondary research-understanding behavior prevailing in the organization and its departments

2.4 RESPONDENTS OF DATA

Employees at Dubai Islamic Bank.

2.5 METHOD OF RESEARCH

The research method followed for the entire activity is going to be conducted through a questionnaire. A questionnaire is List of research or survey questions asked to respondents, and designed to extract specific information. It serves four basic purposes: Collect the appropriate data, Make data comparable and amenable to analysis, Minimize bias in formulating and asking question, and To make questions engaging and varied

2.6 SAMPLING PROCEDURE

The purpose of sampling is to reduce the cost and or the amount of work that it would take to survey the entire target population. I will be randomly picking out 25 individuals who include employees from my own department as well as other departments. Questionnaires will then be handed over to the employees

so that wed be able to read different human behaviors present in the organization.

2.7 PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

The data will be analyzed with the presentation of bar diagrams. This will not only help us in inputting our data but will also give us a percentage ratio of the basic behavior model used in the organization whether the have an Autocratic style i.e. power of manager, Custodial Behavior which means that employees are dependent on their organization, Supportive if the leadership style is approachable and employees are allowed to have their say in the decision making process or whether last of the behavior is Collegial this is where the management and employees work in unison.
