Listen to these names of nationalities and make up simple sentences, for example:
ingls (English, male) Soy ingles. (Im English. male)

And then he said:

When he introduces his son seor Prez uses the masculine form of this:
ste ste es ste es mi hijo.

This is my son. Repeat:

There are other ways to say pleased to meet you in Spanish. Seora Prez says:
Encantada!

Seor Marcos introduces you to several people. Greet them as you think is correct.
ste es el seor Martnez. (This is Mr. Martnez.) Le presento a la seora Cubel. (Let me introduce you to Mrs. Cubel.) sta es mi hija Mara. (This is my daughter Mara.) Le presento a mi mujer Marta. (I introduce you to my wife Marta.)

But her son uses the masculine form:


Encantado!

You can also say:


Mucho gusto!

Two young people meet. Because they are very young they use the less formal:

(Where are you from Mara?) MARA: Soy de Sevilla pero vivo en Madrid. Y t dnde vives? (Im from Sevilla but I live in Madrid. And where do you live?) PEDRO: Vivo en Madrid tambin pero soy de Barcelona. (I live in Madrid but Im from Barcelona.) MARA: Ah s? Cul es tu direccin? (Oh yes? What is your address?) PEDRO: Plaza de Espaa nmero quince. (15 Plaza de Espaa.)

To say where he and his son are from seor Prez says:
Mi hijo y yo somos de Barcelona.

Did you guess what somos means? It means we are and is the plural form of soy, I am that you already learned. Listen and repeat:

Then seor Rodrguez asks seora Prez:

Thats right! It means whats your nationality? Listen and repeat:

If you want to emphasize that its exactly the hour, 1 oclock for example, you say:
Es la una en punto. (Its exactly 1 oclock.) Son las dos en punto. (Its exactly 2 oclock.)

Did you recognize the differences in the t form? They are very similar to the usted forms, arent they? To ask someones name say:
Cmo te llamas?

To say how many minutes it is past the hour use y. Listen and repeat: Its half past six.
Son las seis y media.

Its a quarter past two.


Son las dos y cuarto.

To ask where someone is from:


De dnde eres?

Its five past four.


Son las cuatro y cinco.

To ask where someone lives say:


Dnde vives?

Its twenty past eight.


Son las ocho y veinte.

To ask someones address:


Cul es tu direccin?

To say how many minutes it is before the hour, use the word menos. Its twenty-five to two.
Son las dos menos veinticinco.
