June 12, 1972 CECO POWER TURBINE GOVERNOR-REPLACE SEAL PLUGS AND SPEED ROTOR SCREEN OR ROTOR AND SCREEN ASSEMBLY AND REWORK OR REPLACE MUSCLES VALVE PLANNING INFORMATION: EFFECTIVITY: REASONS: All Power Turbine Governor Assemblies prior to and including S/N lAAD79. To reduce the possibility of leakage at test and improve filtration, the seven seal plugs are replaced with more positive sealing type plugs. The dimpleretained speed rotor screen is replaced with a spot welded screen and the muscles valve is provided with a bleed hole. This bulletin is written in two parts : disassembly of the power turbine governor and inspection of the pinrotor-shaft assembly and muscles valve; and assembly testing, and reidentification of the power turbine governor. Modification is recommended at next overhaul following availability of parts. FAA-DER approved. No additional man-hours are required at overhaul. Disassemble Power Turbine Governor; Rotor Assembly and Muscles Valve

Disassemble the Power Turbine Governor according to the Overhaul Manual. NOTE: Before governor disassembly, inspect the seal plugs installed in the AD, AG, and AL ports (see Figure 1). If P/N 95872 Plugs are installed per 250-C20 CEB-1002, do -- not discard.

Discard P/N 93580 Speed Rotor Screen (dimpled). Discard the seven P/N 93497 Plugs; do not discard P/N 95872 Plugs. assembly (refer to Table II-4 of new P/N 96288 Speed Rotor replace with new P/N 96445

Inspect the pin-shaft-rotor Overhaul Manual). 1. 2.

If assembly passes inspection, Screen is to be installed. If assembly fails inspection, Rotor and Screen Assembly.

Inspect the muscles valve (refer to Table II-4 of Overhaul Manual). 1. 2. If valve passes inspection, Figure 2. If valve fails inspection, it may be reworked according to replace with new P/N 96027 Valve.

Assemble the Power Turbine Governor according to the Overhaul Manual. 1. 2. Install new P/N 95872 Plugs. If new P/N 96268 Speed Rotor Screen is to be installed on the pin-shaft-rotor assembly, see Figure 3.

Test the Power Turbine Governor according to the Overhaul Manual. Install P/N 93566 Throttle Lever at 80 on the quadrant. Ensure that the lever installed has reduced thickness at the serrations (refer to 250-C20 CEB-1002). Tighten nut to 65-85 ln. lbs. NOTE: NOTE: The serrated washer must be installed with the word outside facing out. This lever is not required for Bell JetRdnger installations. plate using New CECO P/N 104100 A2

Reidentify the power turbine governor identification l/8 in. number and letter punches as follows: Old DDA P/N 6876678 Old CECO P/N 104100 Al New DDA P/N 6876678A
