Speech:

In the box under my bed there is an Arduino, a Greek myth book, a manuscript, a picture of me making a game and a Double Helix magazine. Im here to tell you how these items symbolise who I, Owen Chandler am as an individual. The first item in the box under my bed is a picture of me making a game. The program Im using is called Unity. I chose to show this because I believe it shows that I love technology and video games and I believe they are the future and my belief that technology will become an essential part of future life. I also chose this because the amount of unfinished projects on it highlights my tendency to procrastinate. When my grandma gave me a 152-year-old book for my birthday I was ecstatic. I got this book two years ago on my eleventh birthday. This book is all about Greek mythology and is written by Nathaniel Hawthorne and illustrated by H Granville Fell. The book I have was bought by my grandma in an antique bookstore and was originally owned by Esther Swan as first prize for something. I chose this book as an item because it shows my love for history, fantasy and antiques. The third and final item Im going to talk about is my manuscript for the book I one day hope to write The Rise of the Book-Masters. I started writing this last year when the prac-teacher (Ms Mills) gave us a prompt to write a story. The prompt was I walked past the door. She wanted us to add adjectives to it and make it come alive. I chose to include it because it displays my love for literature and my aspirations to become an author. In summary I believe that if I were vaporized suddenly these items would show the people of the future what my personality was like. I didnt talk about my Arduino and Double Helix because I believe that they, like the picture of me making a game, symbolise the fact that I believe that technology and science lead the way for the future.
